Dear All, I was checking some records Connie Roblee sent me a couple of weeks ago all concerning Reuben Roblee [Some of these are under variant spellings] I see a census record for him in 1830 at Granville, Wa. Co. NY. I would suggest this is Reuben Robblee, Jr. seeing as his son Reuben has already moved to western NY. And now we know that he died after 1830. Probably very soon after the Census, seeing as we have the record that Norman, his son, was raised by his brother, Thomas Roblee, known as "the second". I wonder if there might be a land record showing passage from Reuben to Thomas about this time. Or possibly a probate record. Connie also sent me a record for Reuban Rublee shown to be in Arlington, Bennington, Vt. in 1790, and a Census record from 1800 at the same place for a Reuban Rublee. She also sent a record from Greenville, NY dated 1793, concerning a Reuben. And of course, we have Reuben in Granville, WA. Co. NY in 1790. I would suggest that the record from Greenville suggests the existence of an additional Reuben. The man at Arlington appears to be the same person from 1790-1800. Just how do we think these records fit together? Is the Reuben at Arlington 1790-1800 Reuben Robblee Jr.? Who then moved over to Granville after 1800? Was he possibly at Greenville in 1793? Or was Reuben Robblee Jr. already at Granville in 1790-1800 and this record in Arlington for another man? It almost appears that we have too many records for just one man. And the death record Cindy found for Reuben Rublee in 1861 also indicates that. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob
