This is my annual update notification for our Roblee researchers e-mail directory, which is published on the following page on our web site: http://www.robleesonline.org/e_list.html If you have changed your e-mail address, wish to update any information, or wish to be added to this page, please send me a message (doug.detling@greencity.org) and I will update this page. Thanks in advance for your help. Doug
For some time now, I have wanted to simplify and consolidate the way I have produced RSS feeds for three web sites that I maintain. These sites are my home site (www.greencity.org), the Bunker Family Association web site (www.bunkerfamilyassn.org), and that of the Roblee researchers (www.robleesonline.org). What I have done is consolidate three separate web logs (permitting me to maintain all web logs on a single site at the host provider used for all three sites instead of at a separate location). Data base maintenance for new blog is much easier. The down side is that you have to go to my main web log (Greencity news) and select the category for Roblee researchers to read postings of interest. But, if you have a RSS reader or have enabled your browser to read RSS feeds, the Roblee category of the blog can be read directly by adding this feed: http://www.greencity.org/blog/wp-rss2.php?cat=6 I've included my old posts in the blog (though I didn't use them for most of 2005), but I hope you will find this useful and interesting as I will be adding material because of a much-improved method of editing posts (WordPress). If you have comments on any of the posts, feel free to add them. Also, from time to time, I will add messages/materials from the e-mail posts as that also is a way to generate research queries and findings on our family history. Doug
I am very proud to announce the birth of my second grandson, Daniel Spencer Detling, born January 4, 2006, to Shannon and Amanda Detling. That makes one son each for my two sons, and one daughter each for my wife's daughters. Daniel weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces, and is now home with his parents in Provo, Utah. Doug Detling

Good Morning, All, 'Tis early Xmas morning and Becki and I are up early starting early preparations for dinner. The family gathered last evening, catching up on the past year, late into the evening. And I hope their families will be able to join them for the festivities. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

Hi Bob, Thanks, again, so much... definitely appreciated. > I believe that I can help you with information on Jane Penman, b > 1783 - 28 Nov 1864, in Charlottetown, married Joseph Robblee, who died in > 1828 in Tryon, PEI. > Thomas Gamble was a witness to part of Joseph Robblee's will and > the PEI marriage records show her marrying him 13 Jan 1830. > I was wondering if you would be able to send the source and ref. numbers for Thomas Gamble & Jane Robblee's marriage record, as well as Joseph Robblee's Will. Hutchinson's Directory of 1861 lists Thomas Gamble, Cloth Dresser, > aged 21-45, in Charlottetown living with a woman 60+. My thoughts would be > Jane, now a widow, and a son > by the same name as her second husband. > This is interesting because my descendant was Thomas Gamble born ca 1815 who was the son/o the Thomas Gamble who married (2) Jane Robblee. He was married and had moved to New Brunswick by the 1850s. I'll check with another Gamble researcher about this because I am showing I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other Rob[b]lee > connections. > I only have a few Robblees and they are the children of Jane Penman & Joseph Robblee - and some married into the Clark & Crew line which also married into the Gamble line: [this is not my research] i Martha Robblee b ;d. 1834 Tryon, PEI; m. Nathaniel Clark ii John Robblee m. Harriet Nelder iii Thomas Robblee b 1802; d. 24 Dec 1852; m. 18 Sep 1833 Sarah Kathleen Hall (1813-1851) Jane Penman Robblee (1839-1906) m.Charles Wesley Clark (ca 1837-1916) W. Reuben Robblee (1835- ) m. Mary Jane Crew (1850- ) I have not as yet validated any of the above records so I don't know how accurate they are. I would just like to know for my own records the children for Jane & Joseph Robblee - so if you would happen to have that information, this would be great. Both families seem to have lived opposite each other in PEI and NB. > > My Thomas Gamble ca 1815, who was the son of Thomas Gamble above, married > Catherine Quigley, and moved to Westmorland County, NB, and finally settled > in Dundas Parish, Kent, NB. > And then there's Joshua Gamble (appears on 1841 PEI Census) who also moved up to Kent County, NB. Actually, there were a number of PEI families who had moved to the same county and I've always been curious as to why. Love to hear what you have on any of them. > Shirley
Bob! This is so exciting! I'll get back to you later today after I check through my other records. I know I have questions.. Good Morning, Shirley, I believe that I can help you with information on Jane Penman, b 1783 - 28 Nov 1864, in Charlottetown, married Joseph Robblee, who died in 1828 in Tryon, PEI. Thomas Gamble was a witness to part of Joseph Robblee's will and the PEI marriage records show her marrying him 13 Jan 1830. Hutchinson's Directory of 1861 lists Thomas Gamble, Cloth Dresser, aged 21-45, in Charlottetown living with a woman 60+. My thoughts would be Jane, now a widow, and a son by the same name as her second husband. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other Rob[b]lee connections. I have come across this before:' http://www.distantcousin.com/cemetery/ny/saratogacty/greenridge/R.html I wonder if there is any possibility that Thomas Roblee (1796-1877) married again after wife Laura Roblee died 1801-1867). This Sarah was born 1812 and died 1875. The only Roblee family I know of with connections to Saratoga is the family of Alexander "Hamilton" Roblee, son of Thomas and Laura. Puzzling and intriguing.
