    1. A 60th and a Reunion.
    2. Bob Robblee
    3. Hello All, Last weekend, on July 8, my parents had been married for 2 days more than 60 years. And we celebrated the day with them, along with many members of our immediate family. Lois Robblee, who organized the first Roblee Reunion, joined us from Boston. In a couple of weeks, there will be another Reunion of my mother's family and we will honor them again. While Lois was here, we worked out some details for the Roblee Reunion which is sheduled for here in 2008. It will be held here the weekend of July 13, which is the final weekend of the Calgary Stampede. Come join us for the reunion and make it part of a holiday to Alberta. Other attractions include Banff, Jasper and the Canadian Rockies as well as West Edmonton Mall, the predecessor to the Mall of America. We have enough parking space for those who arrive with RV's and some rustic cabins across the way at my neighbor's. I know this note seems early, but when I see the places we plan to go in the next 2 years, it seems that it is almost here. Make plans, let me know and hope to see you here. Bob and Becki Robblee

    1. Searchable Family Data Base
    2. Douglas G. Detling
    3. Fellow Roblee researchers, I have recently updated my family tree information, which is searchable and contains information on more than 8,600 individuals in 3,200 families. In the process of updating, the site's data base of registered users was inadvertently trashed. I recommend that you visit the site register to see the latest family tree information. There are several Roblee and Bradt/Brott connected lines included. This is a personal site, though I could not maintain it without the help and cooperation of many cousins whose contributions are mentioned in the notes on individuals. The data base is found at: <http://www.greencity.org/TNG/index.php> www.greencity.org/TNG/index.php. For those who wish to register, you will need to enter a password as well as a user name. The latest version of the data base software stores passwords in a more secure encrypted form. Once I approve registrations (which I will do within 12 hours) you will be granted permission for limited downloads of information from the site. Please feel from to contact me if you have questions. 1. Robley in England
    2. Bob Robblee
    3. Good Morning, All, As perhaps you know, I believe the family originated in France and the name was Robbilliard. I also believe that French Huguenots emigrated to England and North America where the name has undergone some spelling changes. I have been researching baptisms in England under Robley and variances there. Would those of you on our list that have Robley ancestors in England kindly send me your English origins as you know them? I will try to sort them into families and add them to my files. Thx in advance and hope to hear from you soon. Bob

    1. Repost of a December 2000 Query
    2. Douglas G. Detling
    3. Am attempting to locate pertinent details on my maternal grandmother's family in Brown County, South Dakota. Sybrant Fort Brott and Francelia Louise Roblee, both native New Yorkers, had four daughters, all born in New York. They moved to South Dakota after 1880. The four daughters were: 1. Belle Brott, b. 1865, married William Benson (presumably in South Dakota) 2. Blanche Brott, b. 1871, possibly married, and had a daughter Ethel, unknown last name. 3. Carrie Adelia Brott, b. May 13, 1875 in Quake Springs, Saratoga Co., New York, m. Jacob Henry Detling, June 21, 1905 in Groton, Brown Co., South Dakota; d. October 25, 1954, in Orland, Glenn Co., California. (This is my grandmother). 4. Jessie Brott, b. 1878, m. Tom Troy, and had a son, Maurice. I have an undated picture of the Brott family gravesite in Groton, and presumably Sybrant and Francelia are buried there, although I don't know this for a fact. My family research to date on Sybrant's and Francelia's ancestral lines is nearly complete, but I am attempting to trace descendents of my grandmother's three sisters. In the hopes of widening my search, I am sending this message to multiple Rootsweb mailing lists. Reply to any list, or to me at doug.detling@greencity.org. Many thanks in advance for any help I receive.

    1. Unrelated Rublees in Wisconsin
    2. Alger and Walcott Family
    3. Back in 1994, I was in touch with a Robert Rublee of Hartford, WI, who shared with me that his family's name had been changed though the years. He sent me an informal genealogy compiled by a relative. A question from Bob Robblee today prompted me to enter this family data into my genealogy program. I believe that the Greg Rublee who is currently running for US Congress may be of this family. There are two Gregory Rublees in the later generations of this family. I did not include the latter generations in this report, respecting the privacy of living individuals. Cindy Walcott Generation One 1. Even Knudson Ruble, b. 23 Nov 1823 in Vestre Slidre, Norway, d. 28 Mar 1893 in Stoughton, WI,1 buried in Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton, WI.1 Even was the son of Khud Evensen Hoyme and Seborg Haagensdatter. He took the name Raabolle from a farm he operated before coming to the United States. An immigration clerk heard the name as Ruble, and he used that name in this country. Two of his son decided to use the spelling Rublee. He came to the United States with his sister Marit in 1848. His future wife, Birgit Olsdatter Onsgard was also on the boat, with her parents Ole Olsen and Barbra Onsfard, and her five siblings. Paul is his son and Paul Jr. is married to Joanna Hicks. They live in Georgia and he is retired. I am trying to contact them as well because it has been 10 years since we last spoke. I found a person in a cemetary in Summerside this summer and he may have the answer. I tried to email Gale but it was bounced back. Can you try? Thx and hope to hear from you soon. Bob

    1. RSS Update
    2. Douglas G. Detling
    3. Based on preliminary results of my survey, no regular subscriber of either the Bunker Family Association's Bunker-L or Roblee researchers Roblee-L e-mail lists on Rootsweb uses an RSS Reader. Most who replied said they weren't even sure what it is. For a quick review of RSS, visit the following site: http://www.infopackets.com/channels/en/windows/gazette/2006/20060119_how_to_ use_an_rss_reader.htm This article has lots of basic information. So, until I get enough interest to produce a separate web log, I will continue to provide BFA and Roblee information updates via my own weblog at www.greencity.org/blog. This is a personal blog, with links to categories for genealogy research. Both the main pages at the Bunker Family Association (www.bunkerfamilyassn.org) and the Roblee researchers' site (www.robleesonline.org) have links to the RSS feeds. And, just in case you might think that RSS is understandable only by young techies, I decided to learn about it at age 57 to help keep track of my many personal interests (computing, photography, genealogy, music) as well as my professional ones (human resources, local government, health benefits administration). No matter what your interests, you'll find web logs useful and--guess what--they are all spam free. Doug Detling

    3. Your list coordinator is doing a simple survey. I would like to know which members of the list are using an RSS reader to keep track of articles, etc. on the web. I am maintaining a method to produce an RSS feed for Bunker Family Association and Roblee research updates, and may start including Rootsweb messages in it. But if only a few members of either list are using RSS readers, it may not be worth the trouble. If you are using an RSS reader, and are interested in receiving messages that way, please reply to me off the list at doug.detling@greencity.org. Many thanks for responding. Doug

The result is free public access to more than 1,000,000 Wisconsin births, dating from the 1840s through 1907. The index can be searched in a variety of ways — using just a last name or browsing by county and year. Users can try various names and locations to find Wisconsin ancestors. When an ancestor is found, a copy of the birth record can be ordered from the Wisconsin Historical Society online. The Society plans to add pre-1907 death and marriage indexes in the next few months, creating a comprehensive vital records index that will be entirely free and publicly searchable.

Of course, if you want, you can also send me a message and I'll take care of it for you. Please remember to give me your old and your new e-mail addresses, so I don't unsub the wrong one.
