Have you tried to communicate with the Johnsburg N.Y. Historian Doris Patton? You Can reach her through the Town Office at Johnsburgh where they would have records on Everts and I believe that many of them came from VT or Hartford area earlier. Hope this helps.. Bonnie, I am not sure what is the "other list" you refer to. This list is not connected to any other mailing list, and we do not (and don't intend to) have a gateway to any other genealogy forum. This is about several things sort of but not exactly about RUBLEE stuff. I may get my wrist slapped but here goes. First about computer troubles. Has anyone considered a MAC? Before saying no just check it out and see if you know what is so or not. If for no other reason then that ALL (or 99.9% of all) virus's are written to only interact with PCs so the virus crashes could be a distant memory. DONE on that topic. Secondly, I just spent an hour or so this morning transferring my MANY Rublee e-mails to a Word file so I could get my e-mail list down to under 300!!! When I began a few days ago I had almost 1000 e- mails... definitely time to house clean. I decided I could "search" in Word for anything I wanted to find. In doing this I'd like to appeal to one and all that we never just hit "reply" as ALL the stuff is repeated in the new e-mail. I have narrowed the 101 pages down to about 87 so far. I wiped out 6 pages just by changing the font from Helvetica to Times New Roman at the same font size. Thirdly, I discovered a neat piece of info this week. I found out about a genealogical speaker by the name of Hank Z. Jones Jr. Has anyone heard him speak? He was an actor and retired from that about 20 years ago. I went to his website and found out he SINGS! I ordered his 4 CDs and have been enjoying his music while I cleaned out my Rublee e-mails. The neat thing is it's MY kind of music... the oldies, redone! So, I'd like feedback on his lectures if anyone has heard him....I'm on the board of my state gen. soc. this year and need help finding speakers... contact me privately if you speak and want to come to the Twin Cities when we don't have 25 inches of new white, but pretty stuff! I'll give you the website if you want to check out his music. http://www.hankjones.com/ And fourthly, did you know that the Smithsonian has traveling exhibits and currently has one on 500 years of Food in America? Another thing I found out about a month ago. I'm so fascinated! Can you tell I'm a BIG history nut as well as into my roots? Good thing only about 2 of my 40+ surnames so far have websites. If they were all as active as we've been lately I'd never get dressed! :) I think many of our "brick-walls" could be scaled or toppled if we knew about the history at the time of the problem! That is why I feel history is sooooo important. Here is the website for the Smithsonian. http://www.keyingredients.org/ I'll be attending the Buffalo MN exhibit! That's all folks! Cindy, thanks for the Find a Grave Url, but I don't think the list of Roblees is complete for Union Cemetery. I'm pretty sure Polina is there and Luther, some Roblee stones are down and some hard to read, or were, last time I was there. I have been offline for awhile. I was not satisfied with my new Dell computer or their service, so I sent it back. I had my old computer fixed and, hopefully, it is fine now. I even have all my info back. Wheew. Sorry for not being involved in the list lately. I knew of some Wests who lived near Olmstedville. Clint West was a forest ranger/game protector. I remember him as a shy acting, tall, good looking man, old enough to be my Dad's father. Clint passed away when I was quite young. Dad told me many stories of hunting with Clint and his son, Holly. Clint was one of Dad's "heros". There are relatives of these Wests still living up that way. I went to school with Billy and Joan and Barbara West who lived on Byrnes Road, kind of northeast of North Creek. There were more in that family, perhaps it is the one PMaeve Reed writes of. I haven't any idea if they are all related. I was aquainted with John Hills from over North Creek way for many years before I knew we were probably related. I used to say to him, "You remind me of my brother." John was about my age and died a few years ago with heart problems, sadly, as did his sister not long after. I don't think he ever knew we were distant cousins. John had a lot of musical talent and played in bands around here. He worked for UPS, I believe. He was fairly tall with reddish blond hair( like my bro) and a good looking guy. He had a lovely wife and adopted daughter. It is great to read of other people's memories. JEAN

Responses from me, Cindy Walcott, below. -----Original Message----- From: roblee-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:roblee-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Bob Robblee Sent: Saturday, February 24, 2007 11:23 AM To: Roblee@rootsweb.com Subject: [ROBLEE] Been in the Files Good Morning, Out came the paper files last night. It is a good thing to review them occasionally, about every 5 years. Some notes and thoughts: William G. Roblee, 86, at the home of Luther Roblee, Jr. at the time of the 1870 Census. [NY?} Does Wm. show up in any other records at any other location? It should have been difflicult to go missing for 80 years. Was he the oldest son of Thomas and Chloe? **** This is actually, William Waldron, age 86 (Luther's father-in-law). Sorry! No new intriguing and mysterious William Roblee! Abigail and Timothy Johnson were co-mortgagors with Thomas and Chloe. [Landowners of NE NY, Fred Bowman, 1983] Thomas' sister? **** Intriguing theory. Do you have a date for that mortgage? Timothy Johnson was in Granville by 1795, when he registered his earmark. He appears in the 1790 census in Granville, but not in the 1800 or after. Carpenter notes a second wife for Thomas II as Abigail? Buried in Greeenridge Cem. in Saratoga Springs is Sarah Patrick, 1811 - 1875 and the headstone reads "Wife of Thomas Roblee" Was Abigail part of his life as well? Did Thomas spend his last years with his son Hamilton? Will the 1870 or 1875 NY Census possibly have recorded this? **** Thomas's first wife died in 1867. In 1870, Thomas was living in Granville with his youngest daughter Ellen and her husband Sanford Carleton. His will was made 17 Mar 1876 and he died 5 Mar 1877; he is buried in Granville, but we don't know for sure he died there. So, if he married Sarah Patrick it was between after 1870. I too have a note about that. I have seldom had access to those so-helpful NY state census, taken halfway in between the federal censuses. In notes which are from Marion Bernard? I have Thomas Northup marrying Annie Laurie Carleton, dau of Sanford and Ellen Roblee, dau of Thomas and Laura Roblee. Theresa, can you tell me who is Thomas' father and grandfather? **** I have that too. I found them in th1920 census for Syracuse, NY. Thomas F. Northrup, age 34 and wife Laura C. Northrup, age 35. Both born NY. In the home is Ellen Carleton, age 78. As she was living with her husband Sanford in Granville in 1910, an educated guess is that after he died, she moved out to Syracuse. I cannot find a suspect for Thomas Northrup in an earlier census. Let me know and HOpe to hear from you soon.
