    3. Hi All, Thank you, Cindy, for you recent posting on Luther Robblee's family. As you know, I have been sifting through Census records at Ancestry and the odd thing has come up. The 1830 Census lists 2 Calvin Roblees. One of these is listed on the same page as Theron Roblee, and has the following content; 1 male and 1 female 30/40, 2 males and 1 female 20/30, 2 males and 2 females, 10/15, 2 males 5/10. The other is listed living next to Charles Cottrell and has 1 male and female 20/30, and 1 male and 1 female under 5 years. This, I believe, is Phil's Calvin. The 1840 Census lists a Larry Roblee in Cayuga Co. Ny. The structure of that family is 1 female 30/40, 1 boy 5/10, 1 boy and 1 girl 10-15. The handwriting is poor on the record but Laura or Laury is a possiblity. Is there a girl's version of Wesley? Luther's will mentions a Charles, Orlando, and Eliza of which we have no mention anywhere else as being his children. If he was their uncle, then was Phil's Calvin his brother? This would mean that the Calvin at North Creek, whom we have believed to be Luther's brother, son of Thomas and Chloe, may be the son of Nathaniel as I have previously speculated. I have also recently discovered that the dates of children's births in the family of John Robblee, married Susanna Baker, is in error. It now appears that the 2 girls, Hannah and Lydia, who went with him to Nova Scotia were older that the 3 boys. There may have been older girls in this family that had married and remained in the States after the Revolutionaly War and we may eventually be able to place some our strays into this family. That's about all my thoughts for this AM. Winter seems to finally be over here this week but there was still frost on the lawn this morning. I appears that we may miss spring altogether this year and go directly to summmer. Last year at this time I had begun planting the cold tolerant plants in my garden but it will be another couple of weeks at least. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hi All, It's cold here on the Canadian Prairies. The last 3 days have had night time lows in the minus 30 degrees F range. It tends to keep one close to the home fires and to keep them running full blast. Unusually cold for March but not unheard of in this area. Time to ship a little of that global warming up here. As I finish preparing my files for submission to the WorldConnect Site at RootsWeb, I thought I would let you know what I will list there. There have been some concerns in the past as to what I will include. I plan to list my pedigree to John Robblee, married Susanna Baker, and all his descendents. I will also list William and Andrew Rublier and their families. I will disconnect the linkage which would show the descendencies of Reuben and William until such time as the privacy concerns of various individuals is overcome. In Reuben's case, there are still many indviduals which we still don't know to which family they belong to with certainty. The things I like about doing this submission are: More interested people will see the structure we have developed. The submission can be corrected at any time, as new information becomes available. Privacy concerns are met because no information about people born in the last 100 years is available. Let me know if there is any additional data I should be adding to my files. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hello All, Just some ongoing thoughts about the origins of Phil's Calvin. As mentioned before, I would now say he is the son of Reuben Roblee and Molly Everts. As you mentioned, Cindy, there were extras at the home of Thomas II in 1840. If they were Calvin's children, it would stand to reason that he was Calvin's brother. Future arrangements of which we may never know, would include them in Luther's will. Laura Everts obviously re-married after Calvin's death and circumstances may have meant that the kids stayed behind. Her second husband was gone by the time of the 1880 census where she is listed as MotherL to Edwin Cornwell whose wife is Melvina [Roblee]. Wisconsin and Western NY. were destinations various family members settled, moved back and forth, in no set family groups. We get to sort it all out. Another thought for this Monday AM. All these Calvins and Chloes got me looking at another record. One of the sons of William Wasson and Chloe Ann Roblee {family tie for her has not been established as yet?} was Calvin Oliver Wasson. I would suggest that she is a daughter of Calvin Robblee and Fanny who was ths son of Thomas and Chloe. My files also show a marriage of a Dimus? Roblee to a Jehiel Hollister and I think that she too would be a daughter of Calvin and Fanny's. Let me know your thoughts and HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hi All, Ancestry has added more records to the 1920 US Census and it has added some more questions, as well as providing some answers. Winter has finally turned to summer here and spring work has been compressed into about a week, it seems. The garden is almost in and the dandelions have had their first dose of liquid set-back. As to Ed's question about the number of children attending the reunion, Becki and I will be bringing Becki's fourteen year old daughter, Alisa. She, too, is glad to hear she won't be the only youngster there. And preparations continue for the trip. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    2. Bob Robblee
    3. Hi All, Just a couple more families I found in the Census records at Ancestry. I am hoping someone has more details on these folks Milton Roblee, 55 at Rochester, Munro Co. NY. Wife Margaret A. aged 38. They were running some sort of boarding house? becuase houskeeper, servants and many boarders were listed. The next 2 listings were on the same page. Hiram Roblee, 75, wife Lisa, 76 at Johnsburg, NY. Ginger Roblee, 56, listed as the head of the family living with her mother, Sarah, 79. I know who Hiram and Lisa are but Ginger escapes my files at present. Any thoughts? Winter is still settled here and last night brought another 4 inches of partly cloudy to the driveway. It appears spring will be very short or maybe we will skip it altogether. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hello All, I'm not sure what all the differences are about sites with or without domain names. If it will make us easier to locate, then I'm for it. I'll leave the decision to Doug. And once I get a money order in US funds today, [I have to convert from the Canadian Peso] I will send it along. Thanks for the ongoing work, Doug. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hi All, It's still winter here although the official start of spring is next week. Deanne, my daughter, is in Mali, Africa experiencing temperatures of 30-38 degrees Celius. I suggested we find a way to exchange some of those degrees to remove the extremes at either place. I want to propose a couple of thoughts based on the Census records that I've seen. The 1790 Census for Granville shows only Reuben and Thomas. These 2 are the sons of Reuben and Phoebe, I would say. Nathanael must have arrived in the area after 1790. I don't believe that any of the older generation were ever listed here as heads of families and this was a question that I have wrestled with for several years. Somewhere in the census records I have seen, I believe the 1810 Census lists Nathanael as having 2 sons. Last week I mentioned that I believed that one was William, first husband of Malintha Baker. I now propose the other son was Phil's ancestor, Calvin. This is based on the fact that I don't believe any other family member was living in that area at that time. I would also say that the Mary Robblee that married Benjamin Jakway in 1838 at Ft. Ann, NY was part of this family. She was born in 1811, so it may be difficult to find her family, whether Nathanael's or his son William. Also, after reviewing a list of family members for the other Calvin, which I got from Phyllis, done by her grandmother, I believe that we can place the Chloe Ann Roblee, married William Wasson in this family. There were 2 Chloe's in that family, one having died young. Dates for the other are very close to what Eola Clark has sent us. There has also been some re-alignment of families from Nova Scotia who emigrated to the Rhode Island area, based on Census findings and one Suzanne Robblee has me tracking the descendents of a Thomas Robblee, dentist in Cleveland ca 1950 who was born in PEI. It has been quite a week, with various bits of information kind of coming together. There will be some comments on my thoughts, I am quite sure. Looking forward to hearing them, and HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hello All, Thanks, Cindy, for the note on his military service. He was the son of Jacob Valentine Robblee, son of Harris Robblee, son of Thomas Robblee and Hannah Delap. No children as far as I know. From moments of plowing around on the internet, I have found the following folks I can't place. From the 1900 and 1910 US Census, Elizabeth Roblee, b Oct 1824 in NH at Sweden, Monroe Co. NY. From 1900, Eurona J. Roblee, b Aug 1859, Milliner, Sister in Law and at the home of Norman B. Martin at Gainesville, Wy. Co. NY. Phil, is this actually Emma? From 1900, Edward Roblee, b Dec 1865 in Maine, Laborer at Campton, Grafton Co. NH. From 1900, Charles Reed, b Nov 1857, Farmer, Gains, Orlean Co. NY Daughter Florence M. b Feb 1881 Daughter Maud A. b Apr 1889 Daughter Tressie L. b Feb 1885 Mother Euphronia A. b Oct 1828 Her sister, ?Eulie Roblee, b Sept 1812 in NY. a Widow. And a couple of stray marriage records: Frances Roblee, b ca 1935, married Allen Merritt Freebury, 3 kids. Frank Roblee married Susan Chaney. We have had a late blast of winter with lots of snow these last 2 weeks which had made for inside labors. Two walls of the kitchen are now complete. We will have to have some decent weather soon, though, because a patio door is being replaced with a window and I don't want to tarp it to do the work. The fun continues. HOpe to hear from you soon. 3. Hello All, In my wanderings around the net, I have come across another person I can't place. I found this listing for a Sarah Patrick, wife of Thomas Roblee, d 2 Feb 1875, at 63 yr, 5 mo, 7 days, buried Green Ridge Cemetary, Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Co. NY. I wonder if this is a second wife for Thomas Roblee, d 1877, whose first wife was Laura Robblee, dau. of Thomas and Chloe. Any thoughts, any one? HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    1. Phil's Calvin
    2. Bob Robblee
    3. Hi All, I had another look at the 1830 Census. The man I believe is Phil's ancestor has a family composition of 1 male and 1 female 20-30, 1 male and 1 female under five. By 1840, the person that I believe is his wife is listed as the head of the family in Cayuga Co. with 1 female 30-40, 1 male 5/10, 1 male and 1 female over 10. Phil sent me the source of his information, thank you, that indicates three boys. But if the Census is for his Calvin, then perhaps there needs to be some more thought. Everything fits except that there is a girl in the group. HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    1. DNA Testing
    2. Bob Robblee
    3. Hello All, I'm so glad this subject of DNA testing has come up. I welcome the chance to compare gene chain makeup with the Rapalye line. As you all know, I subscribe to a slightly different theory. And I hope that some of the Robley line will add to this discussion. Joyce Atkin sent me materials about 2 years ago about this subject. And knowing the costs associated with the testing, I wondered how it would be accomplished. However, she has information about a group that is doing the testing if one supplies a pedigree of at least 100 persons, I believe. I have procastinated about this, but perhaps now is the time. Would you supply us the details, Joyce? And I have one more question. Is there not an exclusive tracer in DNA that follows the female line? Also, Doug, would you mind adding Douglas Robblee of Moncton, back to the list? His changed email is [email protected] HOpe to hear from you soon. Bob

    3. Hi All, Our plane departs at 6:00 AM local time from Calgary. In the midst of a no-fly zone. All those big-wigs are talking up a storm west of Calgary and security, I am sure, would be aware of a mosquito burping if it happened to be in the wrong place. An extra 2 hours to check in and bring your photo ID. In spite of this nonsense, we are looking forward to seeing all of you who choose to attend. Old friends we will greet and new friends we have as yet to meet. And all of us from a common background. HOpe to hear from you soon and in person. Bob
