I think I mentioned earlier that Francis Robinson had a brother named Benjamin. According to the DAR Genealogical Research System database, Benjamin Robinson who was the brother of Francis Robinson died in Virginia. So, I think it unlikely that the other Benjamin Robinson who appears in the census record that you mentioned was the brother of Francis and is still another person with the name Benjamin Robinson. By the early 1800s the Robinson family who were descendants of Christopher Robinson at Urbanna was quite large. Perhaps your Benjamin was a cousin or uncle (just speculating). Below is a snip from the DAR online database of DAR applications: The Said Benjamin Robinson was the child of William Robinson born on 25 - Mar - 1709 at Middlesex Co VA died at Spotsylvania Co VA on 5 - May - 1792 and his ( 2nd ) wife Agnes Smith born on - - at _______________ died at Spotsylvania Co VA on (p) 9 - Dec - 1795 married on 27 - Jan - 1757 married at Spotsylvania Co VA The application also gave the following about Benjamin Robinson: Born c1762 Died 2 January 1826 at Spotsylvania County, VA. He was married to Catherine Parker. I've been doing a lot of work with my Thompson and Robinson ancestors in that area too. Specifically, I have an application out now for membership to the SAR under John Barnes of Harrison County, KY. I had perfect civil documents all the way back except for one generation which I referenced someones DAR application that itself referenced a civil document that I have not had the opportunity of obtaining for my own records. I have equally good documents to submit a supplemental application to certify my lineage from Francis Robinson and his father William Robinson. The relationship there is Napoleon Thompson who married Sarah Elizabeth Barnes. Napoleon and Sarah were each grandchildren of Revolutionary War soldiers. Napoleon's grandfather being Francis Robinson and Sarah's grandfather was John Barnes. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
