I have a land transaction for Luke and Christian in 1778, but not earlier. I do not have that 1782 documentation, either, that is good work! This whole early line is quite confusing. Whats with Leggett Robinson? Son of ? Obedience and Luke? Yet he was born in 1779? Was he son of William Adams and just took Luke's last name after his widowed mom married the widowed Luke Robinson? OR, were the two families so close that in 1779 Christian and Luke named their son Leggett after their close friends the Leggetts? Luke Robinson family was in 1790 census in North Carolina with 3 boys under age of 16, six girls and 16 slaves. If this is correct, then the boys could be Leggett & Thomas & who else? Samuel? (Sam says born in SC, but maybe not? Obedience's boys would really be too old to count as under 16.) Girls would be Christian, Obedience sr & jr,Sally and Mary, and that leaves one empty, maybe Divinity Adams, or some unnamed child who did not live to be acknowledged in later wills. Was the daughter of Luke, Christian jr named by/for her mother Christian, or was she named by her mother Obedience in honor of Luke's 1st wife and family friend Christian Sr? If Luke was an invalid in 1782 did he get better, or is this somehow a different Luke mentioned? I know one problem is that this is the beginning of the use of middle names and honorary names. They may have named someone Luke Jonathon, and "called " him Jonathon casually. And then named his son or another brother Jonathon James and called him Jonathon, or J, or Jon and viola- added confusion. I think we need a couple of big white boards, tables, and coffee, and we need to go over all of this info we share and ideas we have as a small group or Robinson researchers! Wish we lived closer... I would love any copies of actual docs you can get your hands on. I will beg lad to send you whatever docs or notes I have that might be useful. Email me... Ug and Gr. All help appreciated. THANKS for your determination on this GK! Diane Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
