He settled in Exeter, Rockingham, New Hampshire. John & one of his son's were killed by Indians during the Indian wars. This time period is explained really well in Nathaniel Philbrick's book, "The Mayflower". I'm going to jump down to Nathaniel Robinson 1720-1777. He married Lydia Wadleigh & they had 7 children. He was born in Exeter, Rockingham, NH & moved to Merideth, Strafford, NH. His 4th child was Gideon Robinson (Sr.) (1755-1722). Gideon Sr. married Hannah Mead & they had 9 children that I know of. Hannah's father was William Mead, he served in the Revolutionary war along with Gideon Sr & another friend, Thomas Sinclair. These 3 families stick close together from this time forward & marry back & forth. Gideon & Hannah moved to Freedom, Waldo Maine when it is still named Smithton. On Oct 31 1811 the first recorded town meeting was held at Gideon Robinson's home & the name was changed to Beaverhill. In 1813 (after the was of 1812) Beaverhill's name was changed to Freedom. In 1820, Maine became a state, before that, it was part of the Common Wealth of Massachusetts. Gideon & Hannah moved to Beaverhill shortly after 1800 as far as I can tell. Gideon died in Freedom 21 Aug 1822. Gideon & Hannah's last child was Gideon (Jr., 1799-1872). Gideon Robinson Jr married Anna Fuller on 29 Nov 1821 in Freedom, Waldo Me. Their first 3 children were born in Freedom from 1824 to 1828. their 4th child was born in 1833 in Dover, Piscataquis, Maine. They had 6 children that I know of. Benjamin F Robinson was their first child 1824-1854. Benjamin was my gg grandfather. In my research it looks like my family was in Freedom Me from early 1800's & then moved up to Dover Me by 1830. Some came a lit! tle later to Dover. This includes the Robinson's, Fuller's & Sinclair Families. The Dorr (Door, Doore) family also gets mixed in. These families moved to Midland County between 1870 & the mid 1880's. I checked the 1850 US Census for Freedom, Me the other night & I could not find even one Robinson still living in Freedom. But this doesn't mean that Delwin & his father, James aren't related. I can't find James or Delwin before or after the 1880 census, but that would fit if he was orphaned. I hope we can figure out were they might fit in. I worked on my tree in "Family Tree Maker" tonight but I can't remember how to select the Robinson Part of my tree & send it as a Ged.com to you. I'll keep searching "Help" to see if I can figure it out. Because then you could see all the children of Nathaniel>Gideon>Gideon>Benjamin>William Henry>Ethel. Ethel was my Grandmother. She was born in 1886 in Midland Co, MI. Her 2 older brothers were born in Dover Me. My email address is: hargerlm@yahoo.com if you would like to email me directly.
