    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: DavidSchimka Surnames: Robinson Thompson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/8791.2.1.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have the same death record linked on my web site. What I believe has happened here is that the recorder of the record was probably re-copying an older record and got the lines all messed up. The marriage record of Thomas Thompson and Frances Robinson states the Father of Frances Robinson as Francis Robinson (this is just a book transcript). Marriages of Orange County, Virginia, 1747-1810 , Knorr, Catherine Lindsay, (Knorr, Catherine Lindsay), 0-89308-252-x., 89. Thomas Thompson & Frances Robinson, d/o Francis Robinson who consents. 7 Nov. 1809. Surety: Reubin Terrell. Witness: William Terrell. Married 9 Nov. by Rev. Jeremiah Chandler. P. 76. The page number at the end of the citation is a reference to the author's original source. Additional Thompson marriages are listed in this book but relationships, if any, are unclear. That book transcript gives a second reference to the father of Frances Robinson. The Last Will and Testament of Francis Robinson names her again with her married name of Thompson. Without having researched too deeply into Benjamin Robinson, I suspect that this is the brother of Francis Robinson, that is, another son of William Robinson and Agnes Smith-Robinson. I don't have a lot of information about Benjamin as yet so take what I've said with a grain of salt. Back to that 1859 death record in Harrison County, KY. Just go down that list and look at the last names of the MALE children and compare to the last name of the parents on the right-hand register page and you'll see just how badly it is messed up. I know you've already done this; I'm addressing others who also get confused when they see it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
