Author: Philippa_E Surnames: Robinson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/10245/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have recently been told why Amazon.com lists this book as "Out of print/limited availability". It seems that the listing on Amazon will say 'in stock' only if I nominate the title for the advantage scheme. This means that Amazon will take a commission on sales of 60% in the UK and 55% in the US. The majority of clients cannot afford this hit. So I repeat - Amazon has to get it from the UK in any case so why not go direct to the UK distributors at http://www.ypdbooks.com/biography/504-the-saga-of-the-robinsons-YPD00471.html ? 3. I just ordered the book from ypdbooks.com several days ago. Got an e-mail the next day telling me that it is in the mail. They figure app. five business days for receipt. So far, I'm quite pleased. I like Amazon to buy from but it can take anywhere from five days to 20 to get a book. Looks like ypd does better service and it's international shipping!
