Clearly there were a lot who admired George Washington, or his family had more slaves than anyone else around the time of emancipation . . . or when they chose names! (You'd think there'd be more Lincolns!) Selection of names seems to vary a lot--in my family Bibles are names of slaves and offspring, but . . . no last names. One family Bible, a Kentucky Robinson one, has a page with only one name--i am guessing that is a slave--and she has a last name, but not Robinson . . . (and not a name i recognize from our family). (Wish someone could shed some light on who she is . . . .) It says, "Lucy Ann Fisher was born October the 25th 1858." b On Tue, Mar 13, 2012 at 12:00 AM, <robinson-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. anyone know (gc-gateway@rootsweb.com) > 2.
