In Greer's "Early Virginia Immigrants," page 304, an ALEXANDER SMITH is mentioned as brought to Lancaster by JOHN ROBINSON in 1653. Will of JOHN SHEPARD dated October 3d, 1682, proved Feb. 7 1697-8 names godson RICHARD ROBINSON and god daughter ANNE ROBINSON and kinsman MR. RICHARD ROBINSON, brother CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON and friend ALEXANDER SMITH appointed overseers and to each of a them a mourning ring.
