Adaline would have only been 44 when that child was born. There was probably a number of children born before this one. Women often had children up until the 50s. If I was researching this family I would look into this man being the sheriff. Check futher into old newspapers in the area. Was there an election for the sheriff? Sounds interesting. Good Luck.
