Does anyone know how I can get US divorce records from mid 1850s? I have just learned that my Robinson father may be hard to find because he divorced from my Sarah F. (Calhoun?) and had remarried. He may be listed with a wife and kids from his previous Robinson marriage at a time I thought he should be married to my Sarah or even deceased since she had remarried in 1859! I am thinking from these dates that they were probably divorced between 1857 and 1859 in the state of Georgia. New question: Does anyone know of any Walter Robinsons who may have had a wife during 1850-1857 other than the wife he was mainly known with? My guy supposedly was a doctor or medical investor, land owner and perhaps planter, slaveholder and financier, and perhaps was born abt 1820 or so in Georgia and then moved out of state about 1860, according to family stories. His name is supposedly Walter, but we have not been able to verify this as of yet. His descendants went to Louisiana then Texas. His children include but are not limited to Mary, Emma and Walter John Robinson, all born in GA. The wife, or widow, or ex-wife, is Sarah F (Calhoun?) Robinson Morris, born 1830 in GA or SC, died 1869 Louisiana. Thanks, Diane
