I am not sure how Emma Walter and possibly Mary ended up in Texas, the stories vary. But I do know they came from Georgia towards Louisiana and ended up in Texas about 1869 as well. Perhaps they came together or were cousins or something? I dont know where exactly in Georgia yet either. If the census records for Sarah and "William C Robinson" are correct and ours, that puts them in Jasper County. Jasper County is just west of Jefferson County Georgia, and fairly close (within a days ride.) We have a story about the Robinson children, that says when the mother remarried the stepfather was mean to them, and so they were sent to Texas to live with family friends named the Dulaneys. I do know Sarah died in Oct of 1869 and the children were probably in Texas by late 1869/1870. I cannot verify that yet but there is a Nelson Delaney in the area next to my Brandons on the census. I am trying to track who the Robinsons came to Texas with and how they got here. Any ideas? Any places to look online for info, or books to interlibrary loan? Any help or sharing always appreciated. Thanks, Diane Here is what I have on 1850 census in Georgia: District #46 Jasper County Georgia, CENSUS 29 October 1850 Family 339 William C Robinson 26 W M farmer 1200 born Georgia Sarah 20 W F Mary 4/12 W F Elizabeth Martin 30 W F Asa Morgan 20 W M (both Martins and Morgans are family names listed nearby on census w elderly parents. I dont know what connection they have or why they lived there in 1850, unless they were servants or they were related and the Robinsons were helping them out.) THIS MEANS THAT OF THESE ROBINSONS William was born in 1824, Sarah was born in 1830, and Mary was born in July 1850. (This is same birthdate of my Mary Robinson, and correct year for my Sarah F. ___ Robinson Morris.) But I cannot say that Dr. A. P. Morris knew this William Robinson who, although considered "wealthy" said he was a farmer and not a doctor. I have some records of THOMAS ROBINSON being a brother to Williams Robinson, but I cannot say which is which because names are so common. Hope it helps.
