John married Elizabeth McKinney in Ga. Elizabeth was born in 1826 in S.Carolina and died in Ga. in 1852 at the age of 26. She and John R. had 5 children, Thomas Matthew born in 1842 in Ga. Mancel,was born in 1845 in Ga. Millie,Millie was born in 1847 in Ga.,and married Reverend Reuben Vaughn. James Manorah/Monroe,was born in 1849 in Ga., and married Sarah Bell Reeves born in Al., in1852. Sarah was the daughter of Mary Reeves. Frances was probably born in Ga.After Elizabeth dide, John is married again to Mary Ann Sanford and they are living in Fayette Co., Alabama and later Franklin/ Colbert Counties Al.
