Hi all, Every so often I throw out my information in hopes someone else can help and here I am again. I am searching for my gr-gr-gr grandparents, Willaim ROBINSON and Sarah COLWELL and descendents. They lived in White Plains, Westchester Co, NY at least from 1860 to 1900, according to censuses. Cannot find anyone before or after. White Plains censuses from 1860-1900 vary William's year and place of birth. Best estimate is May 1815 in either Scotland or Ireland and died after 1900. Sarah COLWELL was born about 1825 and died between 1880 and 1900. I'm assuming both died in White Plains. She also has several listings for birthplace, either Ireland or Scotland, but mostly Scotland. Susan's Certificate of death lists both her parents' places of birth as Scotland. They had 9 children, and again, estimated dates of birth very by census but all list born in NY. (1) Anna ROBINSON. Born abt July 1843. Married twice, first to an Unknown GIBSON and then an UNKNOWN FLANDROW. She had only one child, John GIBSON born July 1866 who was deceased before June 1900. Anna and her son lived with her parents throughout, and no husband ever seemed to be living with them. (2) Sarah ROBINSON, born abt 1844, According to my a letter written to my grandmother in 1976, she was married to an Uknown JOHNSON, but the writer didn't remember his name. (3) Agnes ROBINSON, born abt 1848. No more information. (4) Loretta ROBINSON, born abt 1856. No more information. (5) L. Isabella ROBINSON, born abt 1857. No more information. (6) Ophelia D. ROBINSON, born abt Feb 1860. No more information. (7) Thomas ROBINSON, born abt 1862. No more information. (8) Susan ROBINSON (my gr gr grandmother), was born April 8, 1862 in White Plains, Westchester Co, NY, died Jan 1, 1922 in Bridgeport, Fairfield Co, CT. Married to Frank Flethcer TRAVIS. They moved to West Haven, New Haven Co, CT and raised two children there. They are both buried in the White Plains Rural Cemetery. I have a photograph taken in 1934 of their gravestones. (9) George ROBINSON, born abt 1865. No more information. Their names are common, so I'm not having much luck narrowing them down on Immigration records. And except for my direct line, their children obviously married/moved on/ went somewhere into the great world, but I haven't found them beyond the 4 censuses. The 1976 letter I mentioned, written by a great aunt, could only remember the girls Annie, Agnes, Sarah and Susan, and one brother, no name, and a question mark after. As I always mention, it seems like with such a huge family, SOMEONE must be related out there in the genealogy world, but so far nothing. I'm going to order the WCGS Journals to see if any other family members may also be buried in the same cemetery. And maybe, I may just try to plan a quick trip to the cemetery this fall to take an "updated" photo!! Any help from others would be so appreciated. it seems like this family has eluded me for 20 years. Thanks to all. Wendy
