B 7-- (Burial posted at FINDAGRAVE.com). "Gene Kirkpatrick Robinson died on October 12, 2005 at her home in Dallas, TX. She was born March 22, 1940 to Randolph and Christine Kirkpatrick and spent her early years in Denton, TX. She graduated from Denton High School in 1958 and was awarded a degree in Home Economics from Texas Women's University in 1962. Following a year teaching in the Hobbs, New Mexico junior high, she married David B. Robinson, a Naval Academy graduate and high school 'sweetheart'. The next 35 years she accompanied her husband to numerous and far-flung duty stations, including Washington, DC, Guam, San Diego, Norfolk, Charleston, Monterey, and Mayport. They recently moved to Dallas after several years in Alexandria, VA. During this time, she was recognized for the unnumerable and meaningful contributions to the naval establishment and personnel and was often cited as a model 'Navy Wife'. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Kirk and wife Kirsten and David and wife Alexandra; five grandchildren, Justin, Clara, Shea, Brooks, and Elliot; a sister, Carolyn Hornbuckle; and a brother, Jim Kirkpatrick. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in lieu of flowers, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 76265-0309. DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas (940-383-4200) are in charge of arrangements."
