    3. Hello List, I want to, and NEED to, express my opinions on www.epodunk.com. This site has not only been very useful to me in learning about my ancestors, it has been crucial. But far be it from me to make others believe how useful this is just because I said it was helpful to me. HOWEVER - Let me say that I live in Iowa and have two children in school. One is in high school and one in middle school. When they are instructed in the area of States, cities, counties, etc., www.epodunk.com is THE MAJOR SITE the students are instructed to use for research. The schools have no special license for this site! The information is FREE. If the education system here in IOWA says www.epodunk.com is essential for the students' research, then I believe it is essential for EVERYONE to know how useful this site is. To those who were mislead by Ken's overzealous statement, please take a look at the site for yourselves and make your own decision if it's a worthwhile site. I'm sure you will agree that www.epodunk.com IS INDEED a great resource!!!! THANK YOU APRIL!!!!!! I swore I was going to drop this, but I can't stand it. I must clarify something. If Ken Wagers K.Wagers@worldnet.att.net hadn't tried to warn the entire list about this big bad horrible free service I shared, I wouldn't waste space on our list. But now that he may have scared off some people from even viewing the site, I must clarify his mistake. Ken saw one word "ANCESTRY" as soon as you go to the site. That word is NOT advertising for the pay service of ANCESTRY.COM Ken, that word is offering a visitor the opportunity to see the ANCESTRY BREAKDOWN OF THOSE IN THE TOWN! If you'd just patienty took it a step further without all of the judgement, you would have seen what they are offering. They have a racial breakdown of Greeks, Swiss, Italian, Irish, ect..who populate the area, not the green-eyed Ancestry.com monster you'd tried to warn the entire list about. You are wrong, and sadly mistaken. Yes, there is a tiny ad from Ancestry.com on the screen once you get to the city you want, but so what? Skip over it and enjoy the HUNDREDS of free bits of info. they DO offer! Once at www.epodunk.com simply put in the name of the place you'd like information on located in the upper right corner, hit the "search" button, and viola! all that good free stuff on our ancestors' hometowns! Isn't that great? So Ken, every time you see the word ANCESTRY, don't assume it is for the actual ANCESTRY.COM. Investigate before slamming something. It has a beautiful hurricane Katrina diaspora map on there, maps of the town you're seeking...it is helpful. So for those frightened off by Ken's PREMATURE whistle blowing, good luck with all of your endeavors to find your family! April. p.s. now you be the judge.....Ken says it's (quote) "NOTHING BUT AN AD FOR ANCESTRY " (end quote). Now that the list has been educated, do you see that it's way more than that? The word "Ancestry" is shown to help you decipher the racial background of the area Ken! Not to solicite joining their site. It is all absolutely free for the taking, no need to join anything! You are wrong. Now good samaritans are offering to do look-ups for those who don't have Ancestry.com because of your premature horn blowing. Thanks to all who have volunteered, but there is no need, all info. is free on this site. I had no idea helping people would be this aggravating.
