I am a firm believer in www.rootsweb.com. Just click on where it says family trees. Their shareable area is called "world connect." http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/ You can also upload files to the latter day saints pages at www.familysearch.org Most "shareable" places require a registration and a password but they are free. Rootsweb is a subsidiary of Ancestry.com, but completely free. It is the most comprehensive networking org out there. You can add your name to surname researcher lists, add your name and/or files to county/state/country/location pages, you can use message boards and communicate easily with other researchers. And no they arent paying me! Also- I didnt think ancestry required membership of any kind to view family trees and individually uploaded info, just their actual (govt) databases? If you go to the area called Family Trees, that is free, and if you go to the area called Ancestry Community it is free to create a public profile. They do have a lot of free stuff there, you just often get alot of ads and attempts to get you to join. I access ancestry free ALL THE TIME through my local public library (and thru working at a university I get free university library access to ancestry also.) After I find some good info I save what I want to my thumb drive then print when I get home. Good luck, I hope that was helpful! -Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Robinson" <brobinso@netins.net> To: <ROBINSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 13, 2006 10:56 AM Subject: [ROBINSON] Posting Family Trees > Hello Robinson List, > > I am wondering how and where I can post my family tree without my family > members having to pay to view the tree.
