Abigail, I am so convinced that our lines merge somewhere, I sure wish I could fill in the blanks and see where! We have possbile Calhoun connections in SC around Abbeville at the GA border, and possible Robinsons in SC and GA, but no exact matches yet. Do you have any ideas where our lines may meet or be cousins or at least be aware of each other? Same circles, same time period? I am still trying to find marriage docs or birth docs for my Robinson family: Sarah F. ___ (Calhoun?) Robinson b1830 GA and her husband Mr or Dr Robinson (Walter? John?) unk dob in GA or SC. They must have married between 1847-1849 and had kids including Mary 1850 GA, Emma 1851 GA and Walter John b1857 GA. There is a story from one side of family about Sarah being with one Robinson brother and then leaving with the other. This is undocumented and unproven, although all sides think the childrens father, at least the father of Walter John, was named Walter and was a doctor. I know in 1859 Mrs Sarah F Robinson marries Dr Allen P Morris in Montgomery AL (with a handwritten note for marriagability verification. What does that mean-widowed or divorced or can we tell?) Dr Morris was supposedly a business partner of Dr/Mr. Robinson according to family stories on both sides of descendants. After 1859 the Morris/ Robinson family can be found in LA, Sarah dies of consumption in 1869 in LA, and from 1875 on, the descendants of Robinson and Morris are in Texas. No word on the father Mr or Dr Robinson's whereabouts or burial. I do not have any actual documentation before the 1859 marriage of Mrs Sarah F. Robinson to Dr. Allen P. Morris in Montgomery. Does anyone know how I could go about finding birth records or a marriage record that early in Georgia? Can anyone do a lookup- I will gladly trade any information or services I can offer?!
