Thank you so much! I am so excited to see this! But here is the problem. According to my census records from 1859, 1860 and mortality schedule from 1870, my Sarah F Calhoun was born in 1830 GA and died in 1869 La. This sure seems to be my person, except the dates are off slightly. How do we know this Sarah Calhoun married a Walter J Robinson? Are there any sources or docs anywhere with this? Do you know where she married Walter Robinson or what his occ was? I am so excited...how do I get original proof docs to help prove this possibly wonderful news!?? I dont have anything on Sarah or Mr Robinson (Roberson, Robison, whatever) before 1859 when she married Dr Morris in Montgomery, AL. Here is what I have for Sarah F (Calhoun) Robinson Morris. Her children by Mr Robinson were born supposedly in GA in mid 1850s. She came back to LA after the death of Mr Robinson or at least after their split (no death records found yet). Her new husband Dr. Allen Morris was born in North Carolina in 1821. They were wed in Montgomery Al, presumably on their way out of GA back to LA in 1859. The family lived in several places, including Winn Parish in central LA and Morehouse Parish in Northern LA. The son Walter John Robinson b1857 in GA is not living with them after 1869, and is found living with his sister Emma in Texas after 1880. 1860 US CENSUS Louisville P.O., Winn Parish, Louisiana Series: M653 Roll: 426 Page: 968 August 24, 1860 DWELLING 882/FAMILY 825 MORRIS, A. P., 39, m, w, physician, NC MORRIS, Sarah F., 30, f, w, GA ROBERTSON, Mary, 10, f, w, GA (note: name was Robinson before and after this census, and Emer is actually Emma) ROBERTSON, Emer, 8, f, w, GA ROBERTSON, Walter, 4, m, w, GA 1870 US CENSUS Ward 7, Bastrop, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana Series: M593 Roll: 517 Page: 267 August 2, 1870 DWELLING, 229/FAMILY 221 MORRIS Allen, 49, m, w, Farmer, North Carolina DWELLING 230/FAMILY 230 ROBINSON, Mary, 20, f, w, at home, Georgia ROBINSON, Emma, 18, f, w, at home, Georgia MORRIS, James, 10, m, 2, at home, Louisiana MORRIS, Sarah, 7, f, w, at home, Louisiana *Note Walter John Robinson is not listed in this census. He would have been 13 years old (b july 1857.) He appears again in TX from 1880 forward. I have marriage & descendant info. Allen Morris is probably "Dr. A.P". Morris, the second husband and widower of Sarah, and father to the Morris children listed next door in 1870. By 1880 all Robinson children and Morrises are in Texas (except possibly Mary Robinson who we have no further info on at this time. We do not know her wedding or death information or if she married in LA or came to Texas.) IMPLICATIONS ARE THAT: Sarah F. Robinson Morris, born 1830 in Georgia. Family believes maiden name is Calhoun, and daughter Emma's middle name is Calhoun. Sarah F Calhoun Robinson Morris, middle name was Frances, may have gone by Frannie or Fannie. Second (or even possibly third husband) Allen P Morris aka Dr A.P. Morris was born in NC in late 1821-before June 1822. A.P. Morris supposedly met Sarah F Calhoun Robinson in Georgia where he was business partners with her husband Dr or Mr. Robinson. Dr or Mr Robinson would have been deceased (or left somehow) between 1857-1860. Dr. A.P. Morris claims to be a physician when they are married in 1859 in Montgomery AL, presumably on their way from GA and to LA. Dr. A. P. Morris is also listed as a Dr in Louisiana in US census in 1860. Dr and Mrs Morris and kids evidently moved north between 1860 in Winn Parish LA and 1870 to Morehouse Parish LA. Known children include: Mary Robinson born 1850 in GA (unknown marriage or death info, may have gone by Minnie.) Emma Robinson born 1852 (1851 actually) in GA, have full decendant info. Walter John Robinson born 1857 (July) in GA, have full descendant info as far as we know. And, children by second husband Dr Morris: James O Morris born in LA --lived in Texas after 1875 Sarah F Morris born in LA ---daughter Sarah F Morris may have gone by the name "Fannie" and lived in TX after 1875. Sarah F Calhoun Robinson Morris is deceased in Oct of 1869 in Winn Parish LA. Thanks so much. I will gladly do the legwork if someone can help point me in direction of original sources. -Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Brown" <kenbrown34@comcast.net> To: <CALHOUN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 4:26 PM Subject: RE: [CALHOUN] Re: Nancy, Sarah, Elizabeth PERKINS, Joseph CALHOUN > Hi Diane....... > > I have some info. that you may be interested in. > > Sarah Calhoun b. 9 May 1818 Abbeville, Co., SC.
