Yes, Alfred S ROBINSON is part of my line and I have included a little information on this family. How are you connected to this line? Please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Kay Alfred S. ROBINSON was born on 6 Jul 1836 in North Thonop/Royalton, Windsor, VT. He died1 on 10 Aug 1918 in Grand Rapids, Wood, WI. The cause of death was Cerebral Hemorrhage. He was buried on 13 Aug 1918 in Grand Rapids, Wood, WI. Alfred was the son of Amos ROBINSON, JR and his second wife, Lois SAFFORD. The Grand Rapids Tribune, Grand Rapids, WI, August 15, 1918, Volume XLV, NO. 12, p. 1. DEATH OF A. S. ROBINSON A. S. Robinson, one of the old and respected citizens of this vicinity, died at the home of his son, N. H. Robinson, Saturday. Mr. Robinson had been in failing health for some time past owing to advancing age, although he was able to be part of the time until a short time ago. Mr. Robinson was a native of Vermont where he was born in 1836 and was consequently 82 years old at the time of his death. He came to Wisconsin when a mere lad and has lived at Grand Rapids during the past 40 years. He was a man that took more than an ordinary interest in scientific subjects and was well read along many lines, and until he partically (sic) lost his hearing several years ago, was always active in matters that were calculated to be of advantage to his neighbors and the community in general. His wife died about 14 years ago since which time he has made his home with his son much of the time. The funeral was held Tuesday from the home, Rev. C. C. Becker of the Methodist church conducting the service. He is survived by one son, N. H. Robinson, two daughters, Mrs. E. A. Chapman of this city, and Mrs. Frank Albert of Detroit, Michigan. Alfred married2 Armina HUBBARD on 14 May 1861 in Church of Coe United Brethren, Canoe Creek, Rock Island, IL. Armina was born in Jul 1837 in IL. She died on 27 Dec 1904 in Grand Rapids, Wood, WI. At half past ten on the evening of December the 27th at the home of her sister, Mrs. Cleo McMurphy, Hillsdale, Ill. The spirit of Mrs. Armina Robinson the wife of A. S. Robinson, winged its flight from earthly scenes of pain and suffering to the light and joy of those realms where the shades of night never fall." She had been ailing for some time with complications of liver and stomach troubles. She was lovingly attended by her niece until the arrival of her youngest daughter, who was with her at the time of her death, and who did all in their power to alleviate her suffering, employing the best of medical skill, and used all probable means to again return her to health but without avail. Armina Hubbard was born July 5, 1858, at Ft. Dearborn now known as Chicago, where her father was employed on government works. At the expiration of his year's contract, helped build the first farm house in Chicago. Shortly after removed to Fort Armstrong, situated on the lower end of Rock Island and now used as an arsenal for the manufacturing of ordinances and small arms, he had a contract from the government and when completed in 1840 pre-empted a half section of land in the Rock River Valley where he afterward made his home. Here Armina grew to womanhood. In 1860, she met Alfred S. Robinson in Moline, IL, while attending a boarding school. In 1861, they were married and went by Menasha, Wis, where he was engaged in the manufacture of furniture, they remained here until 1868 when having lost their entire plant by fire they moved to Dexterville, (Wood County, WI) where Mr. Robinson took charge of a Stove factory owned by Svmns, Henvlit & Ielles. In 1879, again meeting with disaster they bought a farm in Centralia, (Wood County, WI) where they since have lived and raised their family. As an issue of this marriage five children were born those left to mourn her loss are a husband and three children, Newton Hubbard, Lois Beassle Chapman of this city, and Lura Tilman/Tlmean Ed of Milwaukee. There was a singular coincidence connected with this union, that probably does not occur in a thousand issues. The husband and the wife's birthday coming on the same day of the month and the same month of the year, Mr. Robinson being exactly two years the oldest. When 16 years of age, Mrs. Robinson joined with the United Brethren church in what is now known as the Rock River Church. Shortly after moving to Centralia, (Wood County, WI) she became a member of the Congregational church. Mrs. Robinson in many respects was a remarkable and talented women in having assisted in the library work of the farmer Institute in this and neighboring counties, and also typist and correspondent for several agricultural publications. Of her it may truly be said a "true and noble christian women has gone." Alfred and Armina had the following children: 2 F i. Lucy ROBINSON was born in 1866 in Neenah, WI. She died before 1880. 3 M ii. Newton Hubbard ROBINSON was born in 1868 in Neenah Menasha, WI. Newton married Carrie ALTZ before 1900. 4 F iii. Bessie ROBINSON was born in 1869 in Neenah Menasha, WL. 5 F iv. Laura ROBINSON was born in 1880 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood, WI.
