Here is her obituary - ------------------------ She was born in Jackson county, Missouri, December 7, 1865. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Courtland. Her father was a veteran of the Confederate army and fought under General Stonewall Jackson in the Civil war. She went to Lawrence, Kansas, in 1886 and was married to Mr. Johnson October 17 of that year. The couple celebrated their fifty sixth wedding anniversary last October. A few months after their marriage they came to Oregon and had lived in Portland, Clatskanie, and in southern Oregon before coming to Corvallis 38 years ago. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R.P. Bowman, Albany, Ca; Mrs. Anna Fisher, Vallejo, Ca; Mrs. Elmer Hathaway, Corvallis, and Mrs. Edith Hathaway , Vancouver, Wa two sons, Arnold Johnson and Raymond V Johnson. Burial Crystal Lake cemetary, Corvallis, Oregon ---------------------- I have found a marriage certificate for TJ Courtland but he married Sarah M. Herelson not Margaret Herelson. The census's say differently though. I have not been able to figure this out myself. I had discovered Margaret through hints but have removed her from my tree due to lack of evidence.
