    1. [ROBINSON] Myra Robinson and family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: wendebelle Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/9657.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I replied on the Robinson list and then realized that this came via the Robinson Message Board. For some, this is a repeat of information. I apologize. I've found John and Eunice in the 1860 Federal Census of Hartsville, Steuben County, NY (post office Purdy Creek). This is only conjecture, but there are 3 Robinson families within 4 houses and all work with shingles, which means they could be related. (My guess is that James B. is the father of John P., who is the father of John C., who is the father of your grandmother, Myra.) Household #118: John P. Robinson, age 54, M, steam engineer, born NY Alvira Robinson, age 49, F, house wife, born NY William L. Robinson, age 17, F, shingle sawyer, born NY Almira Robinson, age 15, F, born NY James Robinson, age 13, M, born NY Charles R. Robinson, age 9, M, born NY James B. Robinson, age 79, M, shingle buncher, born VT Household #120: John C. Robinson, age 29, M, farmer, born NY Eunice Robinson, age 22, F, housewife, born NY Willard A. Robinson, age 6, M, born NY Mandonia Robinson, age 4, F, born NY Nathain Robinson, age 2, M, born NY Vandelin Robinson, age 1 month, born NY Household #121: Willard Robinson, age26, M, shingle sawyer, born NY Clarissa Robinson, age 20, F, housewife, born NY Ada Robinson, age 2, F, born NY Again, I found John and Eunice in the 1870 Federal Census of Genessee Falls, Wyoming Co, NY (Post Office Portageville) living next door to probably yet another relative (possibly his brother): Household #101: Joseph Robinson, age 21, M, White, Works on farm, born NY Lucy Robinson, age 18, F, White, Keeps house Household #102: John Robinson, age 39, M, White, Farmer, born NY Eunice Robinson, age 33, F, White, Keeps house, born NY Willard Robinson, age 15, M, White, Works on Farm, born NY Mandana Robinson, age 13, F, White, At-home, born NY Melville Robinson, age 11, M, White, Attending School, born NY Van Amler Robinson, age 9, M, White, Attending School, born NY Hiram Robinson, age 5, M, White, born NY Ella Robinson, age 3, F, White, born NY Mary Robinson, age 1, F, White, born NY In the 1880 Federal Census of Pike, Wyoming Co, NY I found the following family with yet more children: John Robinson, age 50, white, head of household, farm laborer, born NY, both parents born NY, Unice Robinson, age 44, white, wife, keeping house, born NY, both parents born NY Willard Robinson, age 22, white, son, single, born NY Hiram Robinson, age 14, white, son, single, born NY Ella Robinson, age 13, white, daughter, single, born NY Mary Robinson, age 11, white, daughter, single, born NY Myra Robinson, age 9, white, daughter, single, born NY John Robinson, age 7, white, son, single, born NY Henry Robinson, age 5, white, son, single, born NY Fred Robinson, age 2, white, son, single, born NY There is no 1890 Census available. What was her husband's name? Perhaps I can track her family through 1930. I did find a family tree on Ancestry.com that included a Myra Ida Robinson, born in 1871, but it's a private tree that can't be viewed. So, I'm not sure this is your Myra. I hope this all helped.
