Author: rangerrose Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/5465.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In trying again, now years later, since I posted last today, I found Hubbard ROBERTSON at 14 yrs of age as a farm Laborer on the Edward Butler farm in Washington, Dutchess Co (p 6 of 70). While I THOUGHT I had it locked in, in finding with parents, that faded as soon as I seen he's all by himself and listed as the farm Laborer. However, it SEEMS to get you one step farther back; as 1870 is prior to 1900 census. PERHAPS a theory to work COULD BE that something has already happened to the parents and this is why he's "farmed out" and working as a laborer on young (35 yrs) Mr Edward Butler's farm.
