On the way down the river the smoke stack of the boat blew up and two sons of Thomas Jefferson Robinson died. One of the elder sons, James Madison Robinson saved my grandfathers life by getting part of the smoke stack off his arm so he didn't drown. After the accident the family bought a tean of horses and a wagon and came the rest of the way. They arrived in Jefferson, Texas the latter part of 1869. If you think this might be your family I have a little more information on them. They have been very hard for me to trace. My side of the Robinson family did not talk about their history very much.
