Author: theprice165 Surnames: Robinson, Shirrefs Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/6575.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I too am a descendant of the Rev Thomas Robinson b. 1749 Wakefield Yorkshire and later became Rev of St Mary's at Leicester, d. 1813 Leicester and is apparently buried in the Chancel of St Marys. I have not obtained certificates for any of this, but according to a range of secondary sources, and her gravestone, Thomas and his wife Mary (last name unknown), had 11 children before she died in 1791 (five of her children pre-deceased her). Mary and Thomas' daughter Mary, married Edward Rist of the India House, and they ended up in India. Mary's brother (also Thomas Robinson) was Archdeacon of Madras for a time. Mary and Edward's daughter, also Mary, married Alexander Shirrefs and I am descended from this line.
