It looks like John N. Robinson made the book back in the 1890's. Lots of names and clues here. John N. Robinson passenger agent for the Wisconsin Central line, John N. Robinson married to Emma Godfrey both of Des Moines, Iowa on Nov. 20th 18??. [found the text doc on FamilySearch date is Nov 20, 1872] They had two daughters that both died in March of 1877, Helen P. (18 months) and Addie or Ada (3 years). [NO RECORDS Yet 10Nov2011] ================================================ John N. Robinson had brothers in Texas that owned the Robinson Bros. Grocery. He states that he went to visit them but no date for the visit. ================================================ Emma's paternal grandfather was G. E. Godfrey. He was married to S. Godfrey (Abercrombie). [Possible that S = Serrilda ?] S. Godfrey's father, Alexander Abercrombie, died in their house at 717 Mulberry Street in Des Moines, Iowa around August 1st, 1890. [There is no census for 1890 because the records burned up in a fire in the 1920's. The 1890 records were sitting out in the hallway outside of the vault and they were only able to save 12% of the records.] The funeral was held in Pilot Mound Iowa where they had family. Alexander Abercrombie was born in Virginia and in 1851 moved to Iowa. He had 1 daughter in Virginia and 1 daughter in Nebraska. Alexander was Uncle to Virginia Governor Pierrepont. He had 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren at some point before his death. ============================================== S. Godfrey had a sister in Osage City, Kansas. S. Godfrey had a brother, ?? Abercrombie, living in the city of Ostumwa and he had a son, C. A. Abercrombie. At one point ?? Abercrombie, son of Alexander, lived in Missouri. =============================================== S. Godfrey had a daughter, Kate Howard married to John Howard of Des Moines. They both died of consumption. They had 3 boys that lived with their grandmother, S. Godfrey: ======================================= Frank Howard - well known printer at the Des Moines paper, The Leader. He died in his mid-thirties at his grandmother's house on Mulberry Street. Charley Howard - died as a teenager while visiting relatives in Pilot Mound. He was playing with a gun with some other teens while the family was at church. ?? Howard Random clippings without known relation: W. R. Robinson and Virginia Taylor Robinson of 102 S. Judson Street in Fort Scott. Virginia was the daughter of the famous Col. H. T. Wilson early resident of Fort Scott since 1847. Col. H. T. Wilson was married to Elizabeth C. Wilson Virginia and W. R. had a daughter, C. C. Nelson.
