As silly as it sounds mu Mum knows very little about her family (mu mum is 75 & her parents passed away when she was in her early 20's)- I have discovered my Grandmother's father was called John William Robinson, & my mum always said that her parents were from Derbyshire but I am struggling. The details I have are; Elizabeth Robinson born Aug 1898 (or 1897) Married Samuel Hardy 1937 in Barnsley Died 1960 in Barnsley Her father's name is John William Robinson. There are a few Elizabeth Robinson's with fathers called John/John William Robinson in the 1901 census but I can't really ascertain if they are the correct person. My mum thought my grandmother had a middle name of Ann but not according to her marriage cert or my mum's birth cert.
