Joel, I printed a Will in one of my Robinson Journals of a man named Robinson, who referred to his son's in his Will as Roberson, Robinson & Robertson, and they were all the same Robinson family. Anyone who does not take spelling into account may very well miss out on finding their particulare family. Robison & Robeson are also commonly used for Robinson..... Just wish we could get the Robinson-DNA more active....We have several hundred Carter Y-DNA kits and my family matches 20 of them... Wonder what it will take to get the Robinson Y-DNA going.... It would be nice to see that kind of action on the Robinson board. At one time, when I lived in Tampa, I use to take your magazine, but, after awhile I didn't think Chris R was my line. My greataunt, Helen Robinson Graves, and Viola Robinson Long were friends and Aunt Helen didn't believe we came from the same family. Causton Robinson was writing his book about the same time and we use to discuss where this would go back to. Causton wanted to lump everyone into the same lineage and that never made sense to me. > >I'm not sure that my Thos R is even related to Chris R family, but I don't see how he could move in those circles (Carr and Wallers) in that area without coming from a good family. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree because of the limited records availability, but I don't think so. John R (died 1749) and Thos Carr lived adjacent each other in Spots Co and then you have Benj R, his brother, basically living and working in the same area. One thing about it - there weren't very many Robinson families in that area at that time so even with limited records the Robinsons aren't that confusing. > >Our little group on FTDNA has 8 folks under the Robinson project - some are 100% matches with others being only 1 marker off - we would have a couple more that are found in the Robertson project, but those folks feel like they are Robertsons and not Robinsons. Guess we will always have that problem regardless of what the records say. Half of our group on the Robinson project are unknown. I've tried to find out who they are but to no avail. Why take the time to submit and not tell us about your family? Doesn't make sense to me. :-) > >Thanks. > >Take Care, > >Joel > > >
