Author: penni199 Surnames: Robinson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/10193/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Headstone for Mabel D. Robinson who married George Cooley. The picture is free for anyone to use. Also attaching the 1885 Nebraska State Census with what I believe to be Mabel's family under Norbison. Including parents: William (b 1836), Elinor (b 1849), and siblings: Senettie (b 1873), Elmer (b 1876), Norman (b 1879) and Clarence (b 1883). I am including the Census just because it was so difficult to find. I did submit corrections but would appreciate if anyone can verify. 2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Lillian HARE which was taken at the Arms Studio in Grand Ledge, Michigan. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Lillian likely in her 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information: Lillian M. HARE was b. 4 Jul 1866 in MI to Henry HARE (b. 18 Nov 1834) and Mary Ann FRUIN (b. 22 Jul 1843). Lillian married Thomas B. ROBINSON (son of Robert T. ROBINSON and Rosetta EDDY) on 22 Jan 1903 in Bellevue, MI, the groom was 51 years old at the time of their marriage. Lillian HARE ROBINSON died 21 Mar 1943. The donor can be either male or female, and FF is able to find connections in both maternal and paternal lines, back at least 6 generations, sometimes further. We have several FamilyFinder results from the Robinson and allied families. FamilyTree DNA occasionally offers sales, which are posted on their Facebook page. If you tested with Ancestry or another company, those results can be converted to FamilyTree DNA. The Y-DNA Surname results for this branch show that we are descendants of Niall of the Nine Hostages. http://www.familytreedna.com/landing/matching-niall.aspx Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My GGgrandfather, Eliphas "Lifus" Roberson was born in Buncombe Cty. in 1827. I can't find a direct connection but my family has the names Eliphas, Julius, Martha, Matilda, James, William, and several other names that your family has. I have had my "Y" DNA done but Eliphas was on my mother's side. I have found one document that names Eliphas' father as Julius Roberson but no definite proof. 1. [ROBINSON] James Robinson b. 2/25/1799
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: randymckean Surnames: Robinson, Bickham Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/10192/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for information on James Robinson, b. Feb. 25, 1799 in (possibly) Virginia. Married Dec. 15, 1825 to Mary Bickham, b. June 25, 1808, possibly in Bourbon County, KY., d. maybe in 1849 in Cass County, IN. I have found info on the Bickham line, which mentions this Robinson marriage, with inaccurate info on the names and birthdates of their children. The info I have on them and their eight children, including their birthdates, comes from a handwritten record in my possession. The Bickham info I have found online indicates that Mary Bickham's family came from Logan County, Ohio and that she was born in KY and died in Cass County, Indiana. Cass County, IN is where my ancestors came from, so this info is probably accurate. I have James and Mary's children's names and birthdates, from a handwritten record. It's too much info to put in a post like this, but I can send it to anyone who is interested or could help with more information about James Robinson. I am not interested ! in the Bickham line, which seems to be well documented, but in the Robinson line. Thank you for any help you can give. 1. [ROBINSON] Daniel Robinson (abt. 1772-1830's) of Upstate New York
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: afrobinson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/10191/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Daniel Robinson seems to have lived primarily in the Hudson Valley of New York. He married Susan Greenman (1780-1864) most likely in Berlin, Rensselaer, NY sometime between 1809-1813. The couple moved to Woodstock, NY by 1816 where they raised two boys, Isaac G. Robinson (1814-1893), a master stone mason, and another son we have yet to identify. At some point, Daniel paid for a lot in Hudson, NY, but the land was never executed to him. He ended up in debt and appealed as an "Insolvent Debtor" in 1821. Some research out there states that Susan Robinson married Jesse Stillman on July 6, 1833, but nobody has a source to back it up (it probably came from a family bible that is lost). If that was the case, then Daniel either died before 1833 or left his family in an attempt to find their fortune out West. We next find evidence of the family in 1834 when Isaac of West Troy, NY married Katharine Peffer in Sandy Hill, NY. Isaac lived in West Troy, Broadalbin, Amsterdam, Glen, and Johnstown. The only other evidence of Daniel's other son is the wedding of Miss Louiza J. Robinson (abt. 1843-1875) to Isaac N. Gledhill of Garrattsville, Otsego, NY. Louiza was married in "the home of her uncle" Isaac G. Robinson in Johnstown, NY where Isaac settled with his family in 1853. Louiza died of consumption in Garrattsville shortly after her 8 month old son, James Robert Gledhill, died. James was a common Gledhill name, but Robert was not, so perhaps Robert was a name in the Robinson family. Isaac's second son was named William Seaman Robinson. We haven't found a connection yet, but we're fairly certain that Seaman is a significant surname in the tree. Our goal at this point is to learn a bit more about Daniel and uncover the identity of his other son. Any info or speculation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! There are a few Elizabeth Robinson's with fathers called John/John William Robinson in the 1901 census but I can't really ascertain if they are the correct person. My mum thought my grandmother had a middle name of Ann but not according to her marriage cert or my mum's birth cert.
