I cannot find info on his father. According to an old sketchy family tree his father was James P Robinson born 1839 in Estill Co, KY and Mary Tindle (have found her info). But according to his death certificate his father is Lorenza Robinson (my grandfather's name was Lorenza Dowell Robinson b.1902, met his wife in Bullitt Co. Ky) and Mary Tindle. I cannot find info on either one of them. According to the old tree James P Robinson's father was also named George Washington Robinson and his wife was a Chickasaw Indian. We were always told that my grandfathers great grandmother was a Chickasaw Indian. George Washington Robinson b. 1871 lived in Oldham, McLean and Daviess counties of Ky. I am unsure as to where his parents were from. Generally I don't have trouble finding records for the 1800's but this one has stoppped me. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It mentions that a photographer was hired to take photos at the event. Does anyone know if any of these photographs survived? I would be interested in obtaining copies. Also, there is a quote from newspaper article - I'm trying to find out what newspaper this was printed in. Thomas put together a great reference book for the family, but he was a bit remiss in citing all of his sources. As I track down my family's genealogy I'm trying to find sources for the information in this book. If anyone has any information in this regard it would be much appreciated. Thanks. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mary ROBINSON which was taken at the Barnes Studio in Orlando, Florida. The photograph is dated 1892 with Mary likely in her 30's at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has written "To My Dear Sister Lily Evie". The name of her sister is very difficult to read so I'm just making the best guess possible. Based on limited research I was able to locate a possible match in census records as follows: 1900 census of Orlando, FL: Samuel A. ROBINSON, age 51, born Mar 1849, married 24 years, born MI, parents born VT/NY, a Lawyer Mary A. ROBINSON, wife, age 47, born Aug 1852, married 24 years, 2 children/1 living, born MI, parents born England/CT Edith U. ROBINSON, dau, age 22, born Apr 1877, born FL, a School Teacher Alice B. ROBINSON, dau, age 12, born Sept 1887, born FL, at School + 4 boarders I am hoping to be able to return the photograph to a member of Mary's family and would appreciate your contacting me if you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley
