My g-g-g grandfather Arthur Christopher Robinson and his wife Anna Dorothea, emigrated from Ireland to Manitowoc Wisconsin together with his parents Christopher and Jane Robinson and his numerous siblings. The Robinson's had a background in distilling but due to the potato famine in Ireland they settled on a farm in Wisconsin. Both Christopher and Jane died there. It is believed that Arthur Christopher returned to Athlone, Ireland in 1859 and then moved his family to Australia in 1862 - not sure on the reason for this. I am a descendant of his son Arthur John Brereton. Arthur Christopher's sister Elizabeth was married to a Captain John Thomas Hutchins who was in the 62nd Foot Regiment in Dehli, India, - he died prior to October, 1845. She and her daughter travelled to USA with her parents and the rest of her siblings and eventually the two of them relocated to Canada where they died - I believe neither of them ever married. Robinson and his wife Ellen Folden of Lincoln and Beatrice Nebraska. They had three children, Raymond E. born in 1902, Eva M. born in 1905, and John born in 1908. Ellen was murdered by her mentally ill husband in 1909 and he was sent to prison. Daughter Eva was living with her grandmother in 1910 census, the two sons were in an orphanage in Lincoln that year. No further information on any of the children after that time. Wondering what might have happened to them. Fred spent some time in prison, and in the Nebraska State Mental Hospital, was released from prison before 1920 and died in California about 1953. I don't think he had much or any contact with the rest of his family after that. I assume his children were eventually adopted. Two questions: 1. What documentation are you using for Cornelius being the son of Henrico Chris Robinson? 2. What documentation is there that Orange Co VA and later Anson Co NC Charles Robinson is the son of Northumberland Co VA Cornelius Robinson. I knew Causton Robinson and I know he put that out and many folks picked up on it, but he didn't have any ref what-so-ever. He did the same thing with Nicholas Robyson, saying he was the son of Edward R who was a son of Henrico Chris R. Several other writers have used the same thing including a recent book by John Brayton. ydna may prove this all to be correct but right now we do not have any ydna on Henrico Chris R to verify if this is true or not.
