This should turn up something if it is public. Also, I have added the church address that turned up for me when I searched to see if you had incorrectly put Barren Springs instead of Barren County, KY. Barren Springs is in Hopkinsville, KY and Barren County is near me and includes the town of Russel Springs. I have a Eugenia or sometimes referred to as Lewgenia Robinson b 1810 VA that I am unable to trace thus far. She married Albert Wise. I wish you luck in your endeavors. Author: joelrobinson5000 Surnames: Robinson, Robertson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/10292/mb.ashx Message Board Post: For those that have been waiting for this, including me, we now have 37 markers for a descendant of Christopher Robinson. One disappointment for me is he is way off from me. But, we have figured out another major VA family and that is what is important. You can see his 37 markers at this link: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/robinson/default.aspx?vgroup=robinson&section=ycolorized Go to the very bottom under "ungrouped." We still are awaiting another 30 markers, but this 37 marker group has no matches on FTDNA - not even as far out as 3 mismatches. This proves the point that Helen has been saying all along - submit your ydna if you think you belong the this family. Right now it does not appear anyone has. Oh, btw, his haplogroup is R1b1a2. Assuming, as I do, the lineage for this submission is correct, then the Shafer entry on FTDNA cannot be tied to Christopher because we are talking about a completely different haplogroup. As I've said before, I don't think the paper trail works for that family being attached to Christopher. 3. Pat, I have found my family lived in PA, NJ, Ohio, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I have just been finding my family in the last few years. My father was adopted around 1933 when it was bad during that time for families. I wanted to start to find my father's real family when my husband got on the internet. I have been searching since for years but didn't know how to do it. When my husband got on the internet back in 1998, I decided to start my search. I have found cousins that I didn't know I had. There are times I find nothing, then are times I find a lot. I still have not found my grandparents, Harry O. Robinson and Ann Smith. My father have a sister and brother that I am trying to find. My great-great-grandfather Thomas Robinson/Robson, and my great-great-grandmother that was born in New Jersey(I do not know her name). I found they moved to Ohio which they lived there for awhile. My great-grandfather, George W. Robinson was born 1822 in Ohio. I have found he was in the Union Civil War and have his Military/Pension Records. He married Nancy Harris. They had moved their family to Indiana, Iowa, and on to Nebraska. Nancy passed away in Nebraska and is buried somewhere in Nebraska. I found they moved to Seward County in Nebraska. My great-great-grandfather, George Robinson married Elizabeth Jane Richardson the same year that Nancy passed away. They had children of their own, which is my grandfather, Harry Robinson is one of their children. I have names of the children in both of his families. Does this Robinson family could be part of your family? I'm trying to find more of my family. I would be willing to share with what I have found. I have found family in Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The family that I have found have shared with me information and pictures. Could you check to see if we are related? Please get back to me. 1. Re: [ROBINSON] ROBINSON Digest, Vol 7, Issue 70
    2. Betsy S
    3. The California Genealogical Soc. publication, "The California Nugget," spring 2010 (Vol. II, issue 1) issue, has some Robinsons (Eliza/Elizabeth, Jacob, Louis, William) in it (pp. 14, 15, 18, 22)--probably no one cares, but i will tell you about it. Article title: Louis Schwoerer and Sophia Henrietta Schlechtweg: Pioneers of Murphys, Calaveras County (by Barry F. Schwoerer and Lori Schwoerer). It is followed by two descendancy charts. (Geez - the system does not like the spelling of 'descendancy'! Annoying!) "Eventually Sophia Henrietta's (she was dau of John [J.G.; George] Schlechtweg) brothers changed their last name to Robinson, citing 'difficult pronunciation and otherwise inconvenience' with the last name Schlechtweg. John Schlechtweg was natualized on 7 July 1858 while living in Maine." (Far's i know 'Schlechtweg' means 'bad path' or 'bad road' - 'Robinson' seems better to me! It could, however, kinda mess up DNA matches and other efforts to trace a line!) "Also on the manifest for the *SS Northern Light* [from Boston] was a Jacob Schwoerer, probably Sophia Henrietta's younger brother, Jacob Schlechtweg, and Eliza Robinson, and child. Several members of the Schlechtweg family had changed their surname to Robinson." "Once in Nicaragua . . . crossed the Isthmus by horse and buggy . . . . *SS Brother Jonathan* to California," arr. San Francisco 3 July 1853. "Louis [Lewis] and Sophia Henrietta arrived in Murphys on 5 July 1853 . . . . joined her brothers, Louis and William Robinson, who had come to Murphys a few years before." . . . . "William, Sophia Henrietta's brother, returned to Boston and with his sister Elizabeth followed their father to Maine where they are found in the 1860 census. Louis Robinson (Schlechtweg) remained in California at least through 1859 when he is identified . . . fire . . . property . . . . " In the charts are other surnames, among them: Schmid and Schmidt, Haupt, Schaefer, Bryan, Ellis, Learned, Inks, McFall, Brech (Strasbourg, Alsace, France - maybe one of my relatives . . . mine are 'Brecht'), Hendrick, Reed, Simpson, Sciaccaluga, Rudolph, Schlageter, (Schwaerr, appears in article as variant of Schwoerer) and probably a few i missed. I am sure this is confusing, but the whole article, which one could get, would be less confusing, and it is probably nothing compared to the confusion of trying to trace a Robinson line with a name change! Sophia Henrietta [or Henrietta Sophia - no one knows], 'a well-known midwife and nurse,' in Calaveras County, where the Gold Rush was going strong, was born in Saxony abt 1832; died 1898. She and her husband Louis/Ludwig Schwoerer (got a homestead patent) did not strike gold, but reared eight children, seven born in Murphys.

R. or JJ Robinson, and had Della, Walter, Levi, Tucker, Johnnie, Vena and Vernie as children. Vernie was my grandmother and in the 1910 census she was living with her brother, Tucker. Family lore had their parents being killed in a wagon accident. I found a 1920 Census(which is opposite family lore) a possible clue that Elizabeth B or G for Ginney/Jennie may have living in Civil Dist 2, Smith County as Jennie Robinson and Della who was the right age for her daughter was living with her as well as JJ. I would appreciate any information, but I am most interested in when she died and where she is buried. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
