Dear List, I have recently purchased four old photographs which were all together. I do not know if these families are related, but the person I bought them from told me he thought they were connected some way, but he didn't know how. With that said, I am going to list what I have. I try to rescue old family photos that are identified and return them to their descendants. When I first began this "photo rescue" mission, I returned them at no cost. However, I soon realized I couldn't continue to do that, so I do try to recoup my expense. (1) MONA (or possibly) WIONA DANIELS: This photo is a cabinet card photo. I suspect it was taken in 1890's She is standing with her hands behind her back, big bow in her hair. Photo is in good condition. Card is in fair condition. Photo was "finished by" Blessing Photo Supply Co., 215 Houston St. Ft. Worth, Texas. ID is on back of card. (2) BULAH MAYE CURD: This photo has been made into a postcard. This toddler is sitting on a flowered rug (or something like that). She is in a little dress, barefoot, and I would guess about 12-18 months of age. Photo is in good condition, but does have very limited flaws. No damage or discoloration to the image of the infant. ID is on back of photo. (3) Two photos of children of J. B. Robinson. Both made into postcards. First photo is of J. B., age 22 months and Alpha Lee Robinson, age 3 months (and weighs 17 lbs & can sit alone." Children's father is J.B. and one child is J. B. This photo is in fair condition as it is a bit faded. However, there is no damage to the image. J. B., the older child appears wearing a small checked shirt, long dark pants, and lace up boots. Alpha Lee is cradled in J. B.'s left arm. ID is on back of photo. Second photo of this twosome is of just J. B. Robinson (s/o J. B. Robinson). He is 3 months of age. He is laying on a decorative fabric. He is wearing a diaper and holding his bottle! This photo has a crease in it, but it does not affect the image. ID is on back of photo. So, if any of these photos are your family and/or you may be interested in them, please contact me privately. Thank you, Judy in TX

Please contact me by email: mksroots at juno.com The following was posted in 1999 by Kari Skouson of San Jose, CA: "There were two main DOANE families in Newark, Wayne County, in 1850: the family of William DOANE, Jr. and Truman Parsons DOANE, my great-great-great-grandfather. Truman's wife was Eliza EMMERSON and they were from Amenia, Dutchess Co. New York. In the 1850 census they had seven children, but there were two daughters listed in 1830 or 1840 who were dead or married by the time of that census. I have been searching for DOANE relatives for almost five years. Send me the information you have about Maude, and I will see whether there are any clues which might tie her to Truman and family. I am descended from Truman's daughter Harriet, who was eight years old in 1850. She married Albert WHITBECK in about 1866 and emigrated to Iowa." ---end---

Truman Done [sic] and Eliza Emmerson were married in 1823 in Amenia, Dutchess County. Eliza was a native of New York City, though the marriage announcement said she was "of Amenia." After their marriage Truman and Eliza lived first in Hillsdale, Columbia County and later in Newark, Wayne County. I have much information about the lives of some of Truman and Eliza's children but nothing about the parents of Truman or Eliza. They had eight children: Alvina, James, John, Ann, Calvin, Byron, Harriet and Rachael. Truman was born about 1805 and Eliza about 1802.

She was born March 22, 1940 to Randolph and Christine Kirkpatrick and spent her early years in Denton, TX. She graduated from Denton High School in 1958 and was awarded a degree in Home Economics from Texas Women's University in 1962. Following a year teaching in the Hobbs, New Mexico junior high, she married David B. Robinson, a Naval Academy graduate and high school 'sweetheart'. The next 35 years she accompanied her husband to numerous and far-flung duty stations, including Washington, DC, Guam, San Diego, Norfolk, Charleston, Monterey, and Mayport. They recently moved to Dallas after several years in Alexandria, VA. During this time, she was recognized for the unnumerable and meaningful contributions to the naval establishment and personnel and was often cited as a model 'Navy Wife'. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Kirk and wife Kirsten and David and wife Alexandra; five grandchildren, Justin, Clara, Shea, Brooks, and Elliot; a sister, Carolyn Hornbuckle; and a brother, Jim Kirkpatrick. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Looking for info on William Robinson born about 1824 in Georgia who married Sarah F. and had children Mary 1850, Emma 1852 and Walter John 1856/57 Robinson. Census says his name was William (hard to read middle initial: C or maybe E) Robinson. I believe my William Robinson probably died after his sons birth in 1856/57, and before his widow is living with Dr. A. P. Morris in 1860. Sarah Robinson Morris died in 1870 of consumption in Louisiana. I do not have death info for William or where he is buried. I have his son Walter and his daughter Emma's family information to share. Looking for more on Robinson family please. My investigations include info on the following. Ask if you are interested in more info on one of these "not my guys." The William Robinson who was the son of Dr Peter Robinson, was a merchant and lived at home with his rich parents in 1850 Alabama, so he is probably not ours. The William Robinson who had land records in Texas (Hill County) MIGHT be the same Robinson since later my William's son Walter and daughter Emma lived on land granted from fathers will. The CSA Confederate veteran William Colston Robinson cant be the right one since he was not born until 1845 and the death dates dont match. Marriage searches in Georgia for William Robinson to "sarah" includes listings for: Sarah Mathis to William Robinson in 18 April 1839 Marion County GA Sarah F Morgan to William C. Robinson in 1848 Jasper Co Georgia My Sarah who married William should be Sarah Calhoun (unless there was another short marriage for her before this one?) Does anyone know anything about William Robinson who married Sarah F Morgan? Did they have children and who were her parents? Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!! Diane p2willia@oakland.edu
Does anyone know where could I look for any legal records that might help document these people? Especially anything available online or anywhere that might have lookup help since I am not in-state? Does anyone have any Robinson-Morris connections or connections to early Robinsons in Georgia or Louisiana? Does anyone know the marriage info for Mary Robinson born in Georgia? Does anyone know any burial info for any of these people? I am looking for any connection to any of these family members please. P2willia@oakland.edu FEDERAL CENSUS 1870 Louisiana, Ward No Seven in the county of Morehead Post Office in Bastrop, LA August 2 Page 27 Family 229: Morris, Allen 49, M W Farmer 3000 3000 North Carolina (could be an uncle for Morris children listed next????) Family 230: Robinson, Mary 20 F W at home -- -- Georgia Robinson, Emma 18 F W at home -- -- Georgia Morris, James 10 M W at home -- -- Louisiana Morris, Sarah 7 F W at home -- -- Louisiana The Mary and Emma Robinson listed here are siblings, and children of Sarah Calhoun and Mr (John?) Robinson in GA. Unknown father's Robinson family but I have often thought he was related to John/Archibald Robinson family because of proximity only. Sarah Calhoun was daughter of James Calhoun and wife Sarah in Abbeville SC. We have much oral history and Bible records, some is proving correct so far. Mr Robinson (we believe his name might have been John) was a medical man and landowner in Georgia (possibly near Abbeville SC border area?) who supposedly also had slaves who he treated very well and supposedly tried to free them at one time. He probably died before 1860, perhaps violently. His widow Sarah then married a Mr or Dr Morris (perhaps James?) who was a partner of Mr or Dr Robinson in GA and had relatives in Louisiana. Sarah and Mr Morris moved to LA and lived there until their deaths, unknown when, unknown where buried. Emma and her brother Walter John moved to Texas by 1875, she married John Adam Brandon. Unknown if Mary Robinson married in LA or also came to Texas, and we believe she was called "Minnie." Unknown fate of Morris kids (we knew their names to be Jimmy and "Fannie") Not listed, Walter John Robinson, born in GA in 1857-why not? Not listed, any parents at all for Robinsons or Morris kids- why not? Unknown: burial for any of these people. Supposedly Sarah and Mr or Dr Morris were mean to the kids, and often violent towards at least the Robinson children if not also the Morris kids. Please help if you can or know of a next step to take. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Diane
