I am not sure how Emma Walter and possibly Mary ended up in Texas, the stories vary. But I do know they came from Georgia towards Louisiana and ended up in Texas about 1869 as well. Perhaps they came together or were cousins or something? I dont know where exactly in Georgia yet either. If the census records for Sarah and "William C Robinson" are correct and ours, that puts them in Jasper County. Jasper County is just west of Jefferson County Georgia, and fairly close (within a days ride.) We have a story about the Robinson children, that says when the mother remarried the stepfather was mean to them, and so they were sent to Texas to live with family friends named the Dulaneys. I do know Sarah died in Oct of 1869 and the children were probably in Texas by late 1869/1870. I cannot verify that yet but there is a Nelson Delaney in the area next to my Brandons on the census. I am trying to track who the Robinsons came to Texas with and how they got here. Any ideas? Any places to look online for info, or books to interlibrary loan? Any help or sharing always appreciated. Thanks, Diane Here is what I have on 1850 census in Georgia: District #46 Jasper County Georgia, CENSUS 29 October 1850 Family 339 William C Robinson 26 W M farmer 1200 born Georgia Sarah 20 W F Mary 4/12 W F Elizabeth Martin 30 W F Asa Morgan 20 W M (both Martins and Morgans are family names listed nearby on census w elderly parents. I dont know what connection they have or why they lived there in 1850, unless they were servants or they were related and the Robinsons were helping them out.) THIS MEANS THAT OF THESE ROBINSONS William was born in 1824, Sarah was born in 1830, and Mary was born in July 1850. (This is same birthdate of my Mary Robinson, and correct year for my Sarah F. ___ Robinson Morris.) But I cannot say that Dr. A. P. Morris knew this William Robinson who, although considered "wealthy" said he was a farmer and not a doctor. I have some records of THOMAS ROBINSON being a brother to Williams Robinson, but I cannot say which is which because names are so common. Hope it helps. I have Emma C Robinson married John Brandon in Palestine Anderson Co Texas in 1872 (lived in Coryell Co Texas until moved to Tehuacana, TX.) She had a sister named Mary who I cant find after 1860 (married or died?) and a brother named Walter John Robinson. His info is as follows. Cass County is in the upper NE of the state, on the direct route south from Ark and MO. My Brandons came from this area, and Emma Robinson married John Adam Brandon from Missouri/Arkansas. I have information on my Robinson family from Georgia that is pretty sketchy. Mary, Emma and Walter's father died between 1857 when Walter was born and 1860 when his widow appears in the Louisiana census with a new husband who was also Mr Robinson's business partner (Dr. A. P. Morris.) They had two more children who ultimately came to Texas also. I do not know for sure the Robinsons fathers name. We thought it was Walter but there is a census whose information matches ours that shows the father as William C Robinson of Georgia, whose parents were also born in Georgia. I am trying to place exactly which William Robinson in Georgia was which. The name Thomas shows up prominently in both families but perhaps it was just a popular name of the time... Good luck. Hi, I am searching for any links to finding family of Peter Robinson past or present. Peter did not have a son to pass on his namesake, so I am listing all info that I have in relation to Peter in hope that someone out there can help me find Peter's parents and other members of his family, even his step-children's family. Peter Robinson, according to a daughter's (Emma) death certificate was b. Richmond, VA. b. just a guess time frame around 1845 due to an 1870 census. Below is what I have. 1870 census New Hanover Co., NC Peter Robinson age 25 WM WORKS IN SAWMILL B. VA Eliza age 29 WF Keeping house b. NC Frances age 1 WF b. NC Caroline Barr age 16 WF b. NC George Barr age 10 WM going to school b. NC Catherine Barr age 7 WF b. NC Peter married Ann Eliza Keeter Barr on April 25, 1867 in New Hanover Co., NC. Ann Eliza maiden name was Keeter, she was married 1st to a George Barr in Brunswick Co., NC. They had 3 children: Catherine, George, and Caroline. all children went into her marriage to Peter Robinson Ann Eliza is the d/o Neihmiah Keeter and Delila UNK. of Brunswick CO.,NC Peter died between 1876 -1880 in New Hanover Co., NC and is buried at Prospect Cemetery there. where Emma was buried. Peter and Ann Eliza's children are Emma Francis Robinson b. 1868 New Hanover Co., Nc Lilly b.11/1876 New Hanover Co., NC --------------------------------------------- Emma Francis m/t Martin Alford Yarborough, on 7/18/1889 New Hanover Co., NC. Martin was born in Richmond Co., NC in 1863 however, he lived in Montgomery Co.,NC .This was his second marriage. Peter had a brother by the name of Daniel, it is told that Daniel lived in Roberson or Robinson Co. NC.at one time. Peter's parents are my brick wall. Can anyone relate to any of these people? Peter and Ann Eliza's other child Fanny died. b4 1880. Lilly Robinson married a Early Ellis between April 16, 1910 and Jan. 6, 1920. Early died 1/10/1940 Lillie died 8/2/1959 both in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC. I find them both in 1920 census living in Jefferson Ward, Richmond City Independent City Dist 122 at 2314 F Street, VA Catherine Barr married a Thomas Thayer lived in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC. they had a child named Esther b. 12/1884 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co.,NC George Barr,Jr married Georgina abt.1883 children to George are Blanche m/t a Redd, Bessie Barr m/t William Blake and son George Barr b. abt. 1893. On sister Caroline Barr, lead to believe that she was deceased b4 the 1900's for on the 1900's Ann Eliza states that she is widowed had 5 children but 4 living. My concern on the time frame of the birth of Peter Robinson is; even though the census states he was 25 in 1870, and Ann Eliza was 29, when one gets to the census year of 1900's it shows that Eliza was born August, 1834 listing her as age 65. If she was 29 in the 1870's she should have only been 59 in the 1900's wide spread of 6 yrs. Makes me wonder on Peter's birth year or age in the 1870's.

I have a Walter John Robinson who was born 1857 in Georgia, to mother Sarah Calhoun Robinson and unknown named father. We always thought the father was also Walter, but it seems now the closest records I can find show a Sarah born in 1830 in GA and husband William C with daughter Mary. The years seem right but names are as yet unproven. Our Robinson father was probably a doctor or pharmacist of some kind, and was said to be from England or Ireland, and had friends named the Dulaneys also from England/Ireland or at least on the boat coming over. There are also several Walter Robinsons (not mine) including one who is a banker/planter in GA who moves to Florida and has a son named Walter Robinson. If you feel either of these may be close, email me for more info and I will try to point you in the right direction. Thats about as close as I can get to helping you out! -Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: <bevleach@hotmail.com> To: <ROBINSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2006 6:09 AM Subject: [ROBINSON] Robinson Ilkley Yorkshire > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Robinson > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3cDBAIB/8006 > > Message Board Post: > > I am searching for information on the children of Walter Robinson born 28 > June 1861 in Ilkley and Christina Carter born about 1857 in Liverpool. > They are Dorothy Elizabeth Robinson born Ilkley, Yorkshire 22 September > 1887, Walter Francis Robinson born Ilkley 2 February 1892 and Stella Mary > Robinson born Ilkley 11 October 1898.
