It is now owned by Michael Edd Bonner, great-great grandson of James and Eliza Bonner Robinson. The cemetery is inaccessible to the public. It is said that when their son Samuel died in 1859, Tehuacana Creek was too high for a safe crossing and burial in the Bonner Cemetery on the opposite bank, so James and Eliza began their on "burying ground" near their home. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hunt, Parsons, Kelsey, Ewell Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3cDBAIB/8054 Message Board Post: This might help someone--not related. The Waurika News Waurika, Jefferson County, Oklahoma F. W. ANDERSON, editor Friday, January 24, 1908 Vol. VI, No. 20 NATHANIEL ROBINSON Nathaniel Robinson was born in Licking County, Ohio, September 16, 1840. If he had lived until next September, he would have been 68 years old. At the age of 8 years, he emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin where he lived until about 21 years old when he enlisted in the Union army and served for more than 3 years. His was the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry, Company A. After his war service, he settled in Kansas and was married there December 11th, 1864 to ELIZABETH EWELL, who survives him. Of his immediate family, three children besides the widow are left to mourn his departure. They are MRS. MOLLIE PARSONS and WILL ROBINSON of this city, and MRS. ROSE KELSEY of Oklahoma City. Three grandchildren are two daughters of Mrs. Kelsey and one daughter of Will Robinson. He had six brothers and sisters. A brother, D. A. ROBINSON from Cement, Oklahoma, was here several weeks before he passed away and attended his brother with kindness and faithfulness, both day and night, until the end. Mr. and Mrs. ROBINSON, after their marriage, went to Wisconsin where they lived one year. They then returned to Kansas and later to Sherman, Texas where they lived a year. After living in Sherman, they moved to Oklahoma where they have since lived, part of the time in Indian Territory and the remainder of the time in Waurika. Mr. Robinson was one of the leading men in every community where he has ever lived. He always stood for the right and was always found on the side of good government and on the side with the best people. Mr. Robinson united with the Methodist Church in Oklahoma in 1887 and has been a devout member of that organization ever since… Rev. S. M. HUNT, an old friends of the family and pastor of the Presbyterian Church here, preached the funeral sermon in a very impressive manner. He spoke feelingly of his friendship for his old friend and of his good works while in life. The funeral was attended by the largest assembly of persons seen in Waurika for years.

    3. I am looking for the parents of my GGGfather- DANIEL ROBERTSON/ROBINSON. I think the name might have been originally Robertson but not sure. He was born about 1820 in Cedar Creek, Dickson County, Tennessee. He married NANCY JONES in Dickson, April 1,1837 by William Moseley a Preacher of the Gospel. Two of the witnesses were JOHN MIXON and GEORGE WASHINGTON ROBINSON. This is according to Nancy’s CW pension records. My GGFather’s (THOMAS WARREN) obit stated he was born in Cedar Creek also. Daniel had 4 children born in Cedar Creek before they moved to Illinois about 1950-MARTHA BORN ABOUT 1837, REBECCA CAROLINE born about 1865 married GEORGE BROWN, WILLIAM M., THOMAS WARREN(1848) married JULIA REED, ARAMINTAS MCFADDEN, DICEY ANN BAKER and PARTHENIA AVERITTE and DANIEL(5/14/1849) married SARA ALLEN MUSICK-1897. They then had children born in Illinois- JAMES C.(8/18/1851) married NANCY WELTY OR NELTY, NANCY H.(7/18/1853) married FIRTH SMITH, CHARLES(2/11/1856) and MARGARET E.(5/23/1859) married JAMES HARRIS, and a child that died in infancy. Daniel died in the CW in May, 1864. George W. Robinson married JANE JONES and I don’t know if they came from the same family or not. I suspect they were probably brothers. I know George was present at the birth of 2 of their children in Illinois. I think Daniel’s father might have been ABRAHAM but just not sure. I assume he lived with parents or whatever after he married since he is not listed by name on any 1840 census. I am not sure of all of the marriages listed above but I believe most of them are correct. My aunt said she remembered an Uncle Willie Robinson coming to visit them at times. He and his wife lived in Paris, TN at the time. Any help would be appreciated. This has been one of my brick walls for several years so I thought I would try again for any info. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
