Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3cDBAIB/8137.1 Message Board Post: My Grandfather was Walter Thomas Robinson, he married Elizabeth Katherine Meyer, they had Florence (d), Mary,(d) Richard(d), Robert(d), Anita, Linda, Janice. Anita, Linda, Janice are still living. Richard Eugene (my father) married Aline Walters in 1949 (St. Louis) and they had 5 children: Susan Jean, Julia Ruth, Nancy Jane (me) Cindy Lou, Scott Douglas (deceased). Nancy Jane Robinson married Ben Craig Shelton (1972-St. Louis, MO), Ben and I had two children: Matthew Craig Shelton (1973-1994) and Julia Christine Shelton (1976). Matthew Shelton died without issue in 1994. Julia married Brian Tyndale Robinson (no relation) April 1, 1994, they had one son Matthew Steven Robinson(b-Dec. 1994) She divorced in 1999, remarried John Anthony Pernaselli in 2001 and had two children: Ben Garrett Pernaselli (b-Dec 2002) and Emma Christine Pernasell (b-March 2005). If you will like more information I will try to fill you in. I think my parents lived with Alonzo in St. Louis shortly after they married in 1949. My Aunt Linda has done a great deal of research on the Robinson family. I can ask her to contact you, if you would like

    1. divorce records for Robinsons in US?
    2. Diane Williams
    3. Does anyone know how I can get US divorce records from mid 1850s? I have just learned that my Robinson father may be hard to find because he divorced from my Sarah F. (Calhoun?) and had remarried. He may be listed with a wife and kids from his previous Robinson marriage at a time I thought he should be married to my Sarah or even deceased since she had remarried in 1859! I am thinking from these dates that they were probably divorced between 1857 and 1859 in the state of Georgia. New question: Does anyone know of any Walter Robinsons who may have had a wife during 1850-1857 other than the wife he was mainly known with? My guy supposedly was a doctor or medical investor, land owner and perhaps planter, slaveholder and financier, and perhaps was born abt 1820 or so in Georgia and then moved out of state about 1860, according to family stories. His name is supposedly Walter, but we have not been able to verify this as of yet. His descendants went to Louisiana then Texas. His children include but are not limited to Mary, Emma and Walter John Robinson, all born in GA. The wife, or widow, or ex-wife, is Sarah F (Calhoun?) Robinson Morris, born 1830 in GA or SC, died 1869 Louisiana. Thanks, Diane

    2. My Georgia Robinson's come from around Carrollton Ga . My GGGGrandfather Andrew Jackson Robinson, came to Brooklyn Ala around 1848. There are several descendents of AJ lurking around the list. AJ had brothers who bore the names of presidents. Though that was a common practice in those days. T.Robinson

    3. Hi Becky. Thanks. I am still trying to actually locate my guys in Georgia. Every now and then I repost the questions hoping that someone will have a relative somewhere who matches up. I am hoping that Thomas Jefferson might have brothers! I am looking for every family group I can in that timeframe. My Walter would be born somewhere 1820-1830 in Georgia, so it could be our guys are cousins or even brothers. I will keep on plugging along and looking for the Robinsons in the generation we are missing and hope we can come up with something that helps both of us get back one more family group! Keep in touch, and I will keep looking for our generation of Robinsons in Georgia and let you know if anything good turns up.
