My Robinsons arrived in the United States about 1860 from Limerick, Ireland. To the best of my knowledge, no other relatives came here before them. Those "brick wall" ancestors can be very frustrating - my Robinsons are just one of mine. All we can do is keep trying! Nancy

From another researcher, I received a copy of the marriage license for Thomas Vann, Sarah and Virginia's brother. He was in Pender Co. Interesting that your ancestor married someone from Harnett Co. Virginia did also. Please email me. Susan

    3. Not sure of the county.... but in the 1860 census for Hancock Co., there is a mother Sarah and her two boys George 8, and Isiah 6 or thereabouts... the mother is from Ohio and the 1900 census says George's mother is from Ohio and father is from Wales... i was thinking in 1860 George's father might have been in the army... and sarah is listed as a housekeeper during that time --- Paul Ray Wilcox <wilcoxpr@valornet.com> wrote: > Do you know who George's parents were?
