Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/3cDBAIB/8229 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Robert ROBINSON and Anne RANDALL who according to some notes written by their son William that have been passed down through the family were married on 22 Sep 1782. Anne died in August 1841 and is believed to be buried at St Nicholas in Great Yarmouth. Robert and Anne had the following children: Robert b.1 May 1783 Robert b.20 Nov 1784 John b.3 Dec 1785 Mary Ann Sophia b.8 Dec 1788 (believed to have become Mrs BRANCH) Randall Thomas b.29 Dec 1791 William Wilson b.20 June 1794 George b.17 Dec 1795 Does anybody know anything or have access to records of the above? Robert and Anne's son William ROBINSON, married I believe an Elizabeth PULFORD (born circa 1801). I believe from census information that Elizabeth also came from Yarmouth, so I think there is a good chance that they were married at St Nicholas'. I do not have any dates though, save for the fact that their eldest child was born circa 1828, and I do not have any knowledge at all of the PULFORD family. William and Elizabeth moved to Redenhall, Norfolk before the 1841 census, where William ran a school. Regards Peter
I'm looking for informaiton on or for any descendants of Ella B. Robinson, born 1868 in Alabama. I am conducting genealogy research for a friend of mine and Ella is her great grandmother. She has described her as "apparently very well educated," because she wrote with good grammar, punctuation, and was eloquent in her expressed thoughts. Her grandmother (Ella's daughter, Laura) went only through the 6th grade, so she wonders how her great grandmother Ella seemed so educated. Anyway, I believe Ella's parents are Ellerbe Robinson, born 6/11/1833 in Elmore County, Alabama-died 3/10/1923 in Elmore County, Alabama, and Mary Frances Odiorne. I do not know much about Mary Frances except that I think her parents are William Henry Odiorne and Matilda C. Dillard. If this family is familiar to anyone, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Melissa

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ralph W. ROBINSON which was taken at the Freeman's Studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Ralph noted as 7 years and 5 months old at the time it was taken. I'm hoping that someone from Ralph's family can be located so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with his family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I am posting this for your research. This is one of the most informative and well written obituaries I have ever seen, especially for the time: The Coshocton Age Coshocton, Ohio Tuesday, March 24, 1903 William Henry Robinson, the oldest citizen of Coshocton and one of the oldest residents of this section of the state, passed away peacefully at his home on North Eighthstreet at 3:50 o'clock, Friday afternoon. His faithful and loving wife, who has been a most constant and devoted helpmate during the closing years of his long useful career, and his children were at his side when his soul took its flight to "that undiscovered country from which no traveler ever returns." Mr. Robinson has reached the remarkeably advanced age of 91 years, 66 of which were spent in this city. For years his sturdy figure was a familiar one on our streets. His rugged constitution withstood the storms of many years until a few months ago when his vitality began to weaken. Shortly after Christmas he sustained a severe fall at his home and never recovered from the effects. He was given up by his family some time ago, but his indomitable will clung to life's slender thread for beyond their expectations. Mr. Robinson was born on a farm near Savannah, Ga., January 11, 1812. He was the son of William and Mary (Hodge) Robinson, of Scotch-Irish ancestry. He lived on a farm until he was ten years old when he moved with his parents to the city of Savannah and attended school there until he was seventeen years of age. From there he went to New York City, attended a school a short time and went to Orange, NJ, where he apprenticed to the carpenter trade and served four years in Orange, NJ and started west, determined to go as far as his money would take him. He came to Roscoe, via the Ohio canal, August 10, 1837, having traveled the entire distance by water, consuming a period of three weeks. Coming immediately to Coshocton he commenced housekeeping in the house now owned and occupied by S.H. Nicholas, on Cambridge road, where he resided two years. He then removed to his late residence on North Eighth street, which he has occupied continuously for 63 years. He followed his trade here until 1871. He then established an insurance agency, which he successfully conducted until 1893, when he retired from active business, but continued looking after his individual interests until within a year of his death. Since boyhood he has been a member of the Presbyterian church and a ruling elder in the local church since 1863. He was its treasurer for twelve years. Mr. Robinson was a man of quiet turn and temperament and found enjoyment in leading a life of scrupulous honesty and fairness with all men. Mr. Robinson was initiated into the Masonic fraternity, November 1, 1847, passed November 19, 1847 and raised December 24, 1847. He was elected worshipful master January 14, 1853 and continued as such by re-election for 17 years. He married January 6, 1834, to Sarah Ann Matthews of Orange, NJ, and to them six children were born, of whom his son William H. Robinson, Jr., of this city, and daughters Mrs. Mary E. Skinner, of Chester, WV and Mrs. Harriett N. Stonehocker, of LaSalle, Colo., are living. His wife died February 10, 1864 and he was again married September 24, 1865 to Susan C. Denman of this city, who survives him. From this union there were born two children, Clara D. (deceased) and Howard, of this city. The funeral services will be under the direction of the Masonic order and will be held at the house Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Dr. Wallace Hamilton will officiate. Interment will be made at Oak Ridge cemetery.
