I have records of a Robinson family coming to US from UK and would like to know if anyone knows anything more about this family line. I am researching a Robinson family with a son named Walter who has ties to a Delany family who ended up in Texas by 1875 or so. Can anyone help? Thanks, Diane It looks like th name of the ship is PARAGON. The year of record is 1826. I cannot read where the point of departure was (handwritten in fancy script c1826!) Some names listed include: John Dulaney age24 male laborour England Brigit Dulaney 23 female laborour England Price Cosgrove Hackerhoff White John Robinson age 30 or 36 cabinet maker Scotland Margaret Robinson 30 or 36 Benjamin Robinson 9 Walter Robinson 6 (Andrew?) I am researching all the Walter Robinson I can find in order to see if I can find my guy who was the father of Mary Robinson b1850, Emma Robinson b1851 and Walter John Robinson born 1857 in Georgia. The mother was Sarah F (Calhoun?) Robinson, also from GA or SC. I do not know where the father was from later census records say the childrens father born in GA. In looking for my guy I found many Walters, most I can prove are not mine. Here is one Walter with no middle name who was born about the right place and time to be your guy. Hope this helps. Hi: My great great grandparents Henry Robinson (1810-1859) and Sarah Ann Faulconer of Spotsylvania Co., VA had 10 children. Their 2nd son was named James Robinson and he was born in 1838 in Spotsylvania Co., VA. Is this by chance the James Robinson for whom you are searching. Bernie in Springfiled, VA
I am looking for any info about a woman named Sarah who married a Mr or Dr RObinson and had children Mary b1850, Emma Calhoun b1851 and Walter JOhn b1857 in Georgia. Sarah remarried in 1859 in Montgomery AL to a Dr A P Morris. Sarah and Dr Morris and the kids were leaving GA passing through AL and moving to northern LA. They were in LA by 1860 and stayed there until Sarah's death in 1869, when the rest of family went to Texas. I have stories of Sarah being involved with two Robinson brothers, and although we assumed her husband was deceased another branch of family had a story about her leaving Mr Robinson (presumed name is Walter) and divorcing to remarry Dr Morris. I do not know any counties in which to begin searching, and the only verification docs I have is her marriage to Dr Morris in Montgomery in 1859. We do not know if Dr Morris was a real doctor or is he was swindling Mr/Dr Robinson or what the story was - there are too many family stories and not enough documentation. we know these three children were born at these times in Georgia but do not have a record of their births, their parents names or a county in which to begin looking. Does anyone have any ideas? Can anyone do a statewide Georgia divorce lookup for 1856-1860? I dont imagine there were many.... Could anyone do a marriage lookup for Sarah b1830, probably maiden name Calhoun, and Mr unknown first name probably Walter married in Georgia about 1848-1850? They would have been divorced or he would have been deceased by 1859 when she remarried... Any and all help is appraciated. Thanks so very much, Diane
