Author: rangerrose Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/5465.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In trying again, now years later, since I posted last today, I found Hubbard ROBERTSON at 14 yrs of age as a farm Laborer on the Edward Butler farm in Washington, Dutchess Co (p 6 of 70). While I THOUGHT I had it locked in, in finding with parents, that faded as soon as I seen he's all by himself and listed as the farm Laborer. However, it SEEMS to get you one step farther back; as 1870 is prior to 1900 census. PERHAPS a theory to work COULD BE that something has already happened to the parents and this is why he's "farmed out" and working as a laborer on young (35 yrs) Mr Edward Butler's farm. A lot of residents of New Jersey moved west to Pennsylvania in the late 1700s and early 1800s. AmongĀ these were a lot of Clarks.. Some show up in Lycoming county. I have a MOSES CLARK born 1810. He married Elizabeth Hunt in Lycoming. I have not been able to trace his parents. They may have come from New Jersey. Does anyone have Clarks from New Jersey to PA who might have had a son, Moses? May be someone can help me figure this one out.My mother(Helen Louise Robinson) had a brother who was named Harry (which we think was after an uncle),and had the double middle name of Federic Toilus. Thus, he was Harry Federic Toilus Robinson. He was of the Robinson's of Kent,Queen Anne's and Talbot Counties(maybe others),Maryland from the mid1600's to the present. Any guesses as to this middle name? We can not find the name Federic or Toilus in our line. I am searching Robinson,Bromley, and O'Niel Families of Maryland.Thank you.
