It has been thought that this William may have abeen the William of Dorchester, in the memory of whose son Increase you have gathered today. ..........the New Enland Historical Rooms in Boston, the English publication of Joseph Meadows Cowper, published 1892, which comprises the Canterbury marriage, births and deaths in the parish of St. Dunstans, 1568-1618. Under the date of Oct 14, 1637, I find the marriage record of "William Robinson of St. Dunstans, Canterbury, bachelor, about 21, married at Patrixbourne, Margaret Beech, same place, virgin, of the like age, daugher of Agnes Beech, alias Streeter, now wife of Mr. Streeter of the same place." >From the fact that William Robinson of Dorchester is on record as having for his first wife Margaret ______ and second wife Ursula (Streeter) Hosier, is it not possible that this William Robinson of St. Dunstans, Canterbury was the William of Dorchester? The Streeter genealogy, by Milford B. Streeter, of Brooklyn, NY, published in 1896, says that Ursula Streeter or Gloucester, Mass., in 1642, and Charlestown, Mass, 1644, and that Ursula first married, Oct 13, 1656 or 1657, Samuel Hosier of Watertown, who died July 29, 1665;that her second marriage was about 1666 to William Robinson of Dorchester." (pgs. 71-72) William Robinson was b. 1615 in Canterbury England. Author: CatherineBurr357 Surnames: Robinson, Goldwire, Harris, Lines Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/5973.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am also looking at the Robinsons/Goldwires. My gg-granduncle, Frank Harris, was on the 1860 census with Harriet Lines Poindexter, wife of John W. Poindexter (CSA, killed in the war). Also in the household was Lillian Jane Goldwire, who later married Dr. William James Berry Harrell, mayor of Bainbridge, GA. My gg-grandfather, Alexander Ewing Harris Jr., should have been there - but at 16, he might have been off elsewhere (haven't found him on any 1860 census). Frank Harris was later editor of the Ocala Banner, and one story states that he and his brother were raised by the Poindexters after they were orphaned. Their father, Alexander Ewing Harris Sr., was in the Seminole Wars. Their mother was Violet Alexander, who came over from Ulster. They came from Abbeville SC to Early Co. (later Decatur Co.). My gg-grandfather and Harrell were both in the 29th Battalion, GA Vol. Cavalry. We don't know the name of our gggg-grandfather Harris, who died in Abbeville. Jonathan Robinson and Sherrod McCall were best friends, who were involved in the founding of Tallahassee. Gadsden County was particularly important. We feel the more we can learn about the Lines and the Robinsons, the more we will be helped. Jonathan Robinson's only surviving child was Sarah Ann Robinson Lines. Harriet and Sarah Jane Lines were her first two children. Sarah Jane married John Wise Goldwire Jr., parents of Lillian Jane. Another note - a Jonathan Robinson was named as executor in William Wise's will, the Wise (died about 1816) who married Sarah Margaret Denmark - also Bulloch County. Seems likely this is the same Jonathan Robinson. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [ROBINSON] If you have family Bible pages . . .
    2. Betsy S
    3. . . . you might want to share them in this way, so that they will 'live on' b (nee betsy clements collins)(daughter of a Kansas City-from Kentucky Robinson)) go to http://www.biblerecords.com/ ([email protected]) <[email protected]> Bible Records Online is a site dedicated to transcribing and digitizing the contents of family records that were written inside family Bibles and in other important documents from as early as the 1500s through today. Often, these were the only written records of births, marriages and deaths of a family, and these remain solid components to proving a family genealogy. *Please consider helping:* *Submit Bible Records* <http://www.biblerecords.com/submit.html>* *Submit family Bibles that are in your possession, or those that you can find. Bible Records found in publications printed before 1923 (in US) are in the public domain, and can be freely copied. If you have one (or several) please click the link for submission guidelines. *Family Bible Submission Guidelines: *If you personally have a family Bible or a record that you would like to submit, please consider these guidelines. Nothing is absolute, and if you cannot follow these guidelines, please submit something anyway. Please e-mail all submissions to Tracy St. Claire at [email protected]<[email protected]>. I hope to have a form on this site fairly soon, assuming my design and coding skills improve. My favorite formats for images are JPG and TIF, but I can usually read and convert most others, too. My favorite form for text is a regular ASCII TXT file, but I also use Microsoft® Word as well, which can read most formats. I appreciate having both a transcript and the associated image files, but I will accept either. More information is better than less information. I often bundle Bible records and submit them to sites that deal with specific locations or family names. Please indicate if I can send yours along if it is appropriate. Please include the following information with your submission: Header: --The primary family name in the Bible --Your name and best e-mail address --How did you get this Bible record? --A description of the Bible itself, if available, with the publisher's name and copyright date --Anything else in the Bible? --Where did this family live? --Who currently has this Bible? --Any other relevent comments Transcript: --Transcribe sequentially through the Bible -- starting with any inscriptions through the back pages. --Be sure to check the between the Old Testament and the Apocrypha, and the Apocrypha and the New Testament. This is a common place for families to record information. --Copy the information word for word, and do not correct spelling. Place comments in [brackets]. --If you cannot include a scanned image of each page, please consider having someone proofread the submission before you send it. Old handwriting is tricky, and almost every day I receive a correction on a Bible I have transcribed. Further, it is always possible that your record will be the only one ever made. Thank you very much.
