Author: kriswithak_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/9409.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi there. I must tell you that I just found this thread and am so excited! My grandfather was Earl Edgar Robinson, brother of George and Harry. Earl married Lola Cloos and they had two sons, Raymond and Robert. Robert was my dad. Raymond drowned when he was young. I am trying to connect with relatives as well as fill in missing pieces, share family information and photos. In the 1920 census, Earl, Lola, Hattie, Edna Kemp, William Meents (I believe born George Cloos), and others, lived in Mason City, IA. That is where my dad was born. In 1923, Earl, Lola and Robert went to California to visit Lola's brother, William Meents, and stayed. I have some information on Earl but am looking for more on the Robinsons as well as information on Lola and William. My name is Kris Robinson. This is very cool! Author: revdianie Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/9621.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Do you where they are buried? Also, keep in mind the context. 1860 = civil war era. It could any number of reasons why she would have a different last name: maybe that the mom and kids were hiding their relationship to the father if he was war deserter or perhaps they were separated for some reason and she considered herself "divorced" until he came back and they made up. it could be that she was married previously and when he shows up he takes on the family as his own, changing their names. I know, it is all speculation, but sometimes wild ideas can help you find documentation. Have you checked out anything military yet- did he serve anywhere during the 1860s? military records should also have his place of birth and mustering location - so we should be able to find out where he was in mid 1860s if he signed up or was drafted anywhere. good luck! WOLVERTON; hello again! George W. WOLVERTON's mother's name is given as Bertha GAUTHER on the Ancestry.com message board for Braxton Co., WV (dated 2 Feb 2007). Marriage records show that George W. WOLVERTON married Zelda DENNISON of Harrison Co, WVA. in 1848. As with WOLVERTON/WOOLVERTON a common spelling of GAUTHER is GAUTHIER. I'm grateful for any information you can find. However it would be interesting if we could track down where Bertha GAUTHIER was first mentioned in this connection. I am concerned that someone may have made an erroneous assumption between these 2 couples ... - Zelda DENNISON m=George Washington WOLVERTON - Zella May DENISON m=George CLIFFORD http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dehelsel&id=I45177 At the above gedcom you can see that someone has confused the name Zelda with a Zella who's mother is Bertha GINTHER. Please note that there is about a 80 year difference in age between the 2 Bertha's as well as about an 80 year difference in age between the Zelda & Zella. --------- NICOLE Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Our family thinks she was called Betty and last name may now be Burnette, I am guessing she would be well into her 80's by now. My husbands mother was Clarence's 2nd wife. Her name was Katherine Helen Hartman. There were 3 daughters, one still born boy baby and my husband who was the youngest. My researcher says Clarence was Lutheran, probably because both of his wives were of German origin. I have more that I could send to you. I saw you had a message from Nancy Patteson, she has lots of good information to share also. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [ROBINSON] LOOKING FOR JEREE ANDERSON AGAIN!!
    2. Pat Boyer
    3. Hi, I am posting this again in hopes someone will know this person. I am looking for a Jeree Anderson whom I communicated with about 9 years ago. I know it will be a long shot, but I'll try it anyway. I would like to talk to her about a email I got from her back then, I think there might be a connection to our Robinson families. I tried to notify her when I changed my email address, but didn't get a response, so I'm assuming she has changed it. I want to know if she has a Louis Langer in her Genealogy family somewhere. I ask because in going over her brief info she mentions that George W. Robinson lived in Devils Lake N.D. and in Kansas, Nebraska. Louis Langer died in Devils Lake, N.D. I'm thinking there has to be a connection. Thank You Pat Boyer in AZ

My great grandfather Frederick Robinson was born in Trent Vale in about 1862. I am not yet 100% sure, but I believe that he was the son of James Robinson born about 1821 who is listed in the 1871 census as aged 50, occupation wheelwright, born at Tittensor. Would this James have been your great great grandfather? I have just ordered a birth certificate for my great grandfather Frederick and hope to use that to confirm his parents as James & Susannah Robinson.
