Author: Lace_Lynch Surnames: Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.robinson/9708/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Daniel Mann Robinson, 65, of Chillicothe, Ohio passed from this world on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the quiet of his home, having fought a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. Dan was born to Andrew and Ruth (Mabley) Robinson on January 20, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio. Known for his rapier wit, Dan could make anyone smile. His easy manner and cheerful spirit won him many friends. Dan retired after 27 years of dedicated service to American veterans at the Brecksville, OH Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam, he spent much of his time at VFW Post 108 in Chillicothe, Ohio. He cherished his son, Jonathan and adored his grandbabies. Family meant so much to Dan; he looked up to and respected his brothers and sisters throughout his life. He loved to tell stories of their antics during their childhood and teen years. Dan is survived by his wife, Sandra G. (Carter) Robinson; his son, Jonathan (Laura) Robinson; stepsons, Jeremiah (Misty) Gnagey and Daniel (Maria) Gnagey; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; his sister, Carol (Dick) Cappiaciamo; his brothers, Mark (Marilyn) Robinson and David (Barb) Robinson; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Robinson; and many nieces and nephews, who each was his "favorite". His parents, a brother, Andrew and several nephews preceded him in death. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Soldier's Square in Greenlawn Cemetery with military rites by the Ross County, Ohio Veterans Honor Guard. Calling hours will not be observed. A memorial register is available at www.fawcett-palmer.com The family wishes to especially thank InCare Hospice Services for their compassion and dedication, Dr. Robert Violette and his staff and to Dr. Tanios Bekaii-Saab of OSU for fighting side by side with Dan in his war on cancer. If anyone can help with any information about her or her descendants, especially after she emmigrated, please get in touch. Marjorie Beryl L COLLIER was born in 1906 in the Harborne area of Birmingham (UK). Her parents were Robert COLLLIER (1867-1920) and Esther Maria BUCKERFIELD (born Sabina E M B, 1863-1946), both from Birmingham. She married Reginald F H Robinson in Birmingham in about 1931. Not long after they moved to Blackburn. They may also have lived in Oldham? Marjorie and Reginald had at least one child, Shirley, born in Blackburn in 1934 and its possible she may have had 2 sons, Donald and Frank (born Oldham, 1935 & 1936)? At an unknown date, but at a time when it was still unusual, she and Reginald divorced. Marjorie then emmigrated to New Zealand where I believe she remarried (or she may have remarried before emmigrating?). I think she may have emmigrated with her (future) second husband who may have been a teacher, possibly a headmaster. Can anyone help? Hi Dianne, Thanks for the reply, I did find Walter was an actor for a Theater Co. in Manhattan, he moved to L.A. about 1910 and played in 177 silent movies. He basically played small rolls and went by the names Spike Robinson, W.W. Robinson, William C. Robinson and Billy Robinson, however his real name was Walter Charles Robinson. Walter died in Maywood, CA in 1946, I haven't found an obit, or burial site. The links will take you to his acting career ----- Original Message ----- http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0733176/ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0733176/bio I appreciate your help! I have not obtained certificates for any of this, but according to a range of secondary sources, and her gravestone, Thomas and his wife Mary (last name unknown), had 11 children before she died in 1791 (five of her children pre-deceased her). Mary and Thomas' daughter Mary, married Edward Rist of the India House, and they ended up in India. Mary's brother (also Thomas Robinson) was Archdeacon of Madras for a time. Mary and Edward's daughter, also Mary, married Alexander Shirrefs and I am descended from this line. I would imagine, however, that as Mary and Thomas had 6 living children on her death, there are probably a fair few relatives around.... regards Robin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
