In tracking down the LANGWORTHYs, I came across extracts of deeds for Westerly online and found the following item: Westerly, RI Deeds Vol. 7 Pages 92-3, John Lewis & Anna his wife, Robert Burdick & Dorcas his wife and Daniel Lewis, children of David Lewis Deceased of Westerly ... father’s will dated Feb. 1, 1717/8, ... eldest sister, Mary Langworthy with her husband John Langworthy, ... quit claim to Mary & John Langworthy, Aug. 4, 1721; recorded Nov. 25, 1748. Witnesses: Samuel Langworthy and John Davis. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~rigenweb/westerly.html> Am I correct in reading this as David LEWIS having the following children: John, Dorcas, Daniel and Mary? Was it David whose will was dated 1 Feb 1717/1718? Savage attributes these children [plus Jonathan and Hannah] to Daniel LEWIS and Mary BUTTON. He also mentions Daniel’s will of 1 Feb 1717/1718. J.D. Champlin, Jr. in Early Settlers of Westerly, Rhode Island (NEHGR, Vol. 14, p. 168) also mentions the same children as Savage along with the same date for the will of Daniel LEWIS.
