Hi everyone, I've been working at sorting out one Smith family in Washington County - the one which married into the Gereardy family. These people are tough - that is all the Smiths, because there were so many and they don't appear to have a common connection, at least on paper. DNA tests would surely be interesting :)))) This is some of what I have - and before anyone comments on the Hopestill Smith/Northup connection, she was shown as the wife of Henry Northup in Exeter, RI records. She is commonly believed to have married Joseph Northup and indeed she may have done so, but I think she must have married Henry somewhere along the line.
