    3. Charlie has replied with some helpful information. I am not sure what information you are looking for. But I do have some information in my database on Asa and I have a Worden notebook at home with more information on the family name. I belonged to the Worden Family Association for a while and they published (or used to) an excellent newsletter with family information and research. My interest in the Wordens was because they lived near my ancestors and the name appears in the records with my ancestors several times. Here is a census listing: RI State Archives. 1875 RI State Census, Hopkinton page 43 north from Rockville Dwelling 317 / wood / family 349 Asa Worden 75 MW head marr b Hopkinton collier Mary M. Coon 25 MW son-in-law marr b Hopkinton laborer Elizabeth A. Coon 22 FW dau marr b Hopkinton spuded (?) tender Minnie V. Coon 3 FW dau sgl b Hopkinton Based on this listing Asa was married to Mary M. But given the age difference she could be a second wife. This gives you at least a partial list of children. From which child do you descend? Here's the marriage record: Film 0930814, Westerly Births Marriages Deaths Vol 1, 1818-1901 Births p 19, 1 Sep 1844 at my house Asa Warden (Worden) of Hopkinton m Miss Mary Ann Sullivan of Westerly 28 Feb 1845 by Thomas H. About 1990, someone found some old records in an attic or somewhere in Hopkinton. These included a list of voters in the 1839 election. Asa Wordon is listed. A Benjamin Worden is also listed. Here is the 1880 census listing from familysearch.org. He must have found the "fountain of youth" because he is 11 years younger! I suggest you read the original census record to see if the transcriber read the enumerator's handwriting correctly. Asa WORDEN Self M Male W 69 RI Farmer RI RI Mary M. Here is a lead from my database. Charlestown Land evidence 6:70 This deed dated 10 Jan 1824 between Robert and jeffrey Hazard of SK and Charlestown to Samuel Green of Charlestown is for land bordered on the south by the heirs of Benjamin Worden. Another deed dated 19 Jan 1826 also names Benjamin Worden heirs, CLE 6:169. Again: 15 Jan 1824, CLE 6:59, Benjamin Worden, dec (grantor was adm of James Worden late of Richmond dec). The Wordens are an interesting family. I was never able to work out their lines satisfactorily however.
