    1. [RIWASHIN] Bentley Cemetery, Richmond
    2. Looking for information on Richmond Historical Cemetery #RD0032 possibly known as the "Bentley Cemetery" where some of my ancestors may be buried. My information shows that the cemetery was recorded but not checked. Of particular interest are William Bentley who lived on the Beaver River in the Shannock Purchase from 1714/5 until 1758 when he moved to the Wood River. Also his sons George, Caleb, William Jr. and daughter Elizabeth who married Nathaniel Potter, all of whom also lived on the Beaver River during this period. George sold his land to Ichabod Potter, father of Nathaniel and moved from the Beaver River in 1732, to the Wood River and thence to the Pawcatuck River in Westerly in 1740. Caleb moved to Jamestown in 1738 and William Jr. moved to Rensselaer Co. NY about 1783. I am most interested in his eldest son John who lived on the Wood River from 1731 until about 1786. They occupied the same land but because of the political separation of Charlestown from Westerly and then Richmond from Charlestown, they are found in different town records. Any other information on these ancestors would be appreciated. Larry Bentley
